The Braintree Buzz
Principal's Update
We had a great week at Braintree! The highlight of my week was the district's Portrait of a Graduate planning session. OSSD is building a framework of what characteristics, experiences, and skills every graduate should have. The work is led by Up for Learning, and they have prioritized the inclusion of student voice at every step of the process. The sessions are led by RUHS students trained in facilitation, and this week, I was fortunate enough to be joining by 3 exemplary sixth graders. They took the lead on how we will be collecting data and student input at the elementary school level. It was wonderful to see how they stepped up and overcame some big nerves about speaking in front of a large group. We have incredible student leaders at Braintree! Be on the lookout for the survey for family members.
Our family council, Partners in Education, is meeting on Monday, March 13, after school in our library. We'll be discussing how to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, possible enrichment opportunities for students, and providing feedback on the interview process for a new intermediate math teacher. Please join us if you are able!
STARBASE Field Trip
Last Friday, students in grades 4-6 visited STARBASE, where they learned about space, rockets, and more!
