ConVal High School Happenings - September 16, 2022
Message from Principal McKillop
Good Afternoon, Cougar Nation!
It was nice to have our first full five-day week together in school. We celebrated a spirited ConVal Games to kick off the Homecoming today. Students participated in numerous offerings and the senior class was the overall winner of the games. Pictured right here is ConVal's Contemporary Rock Band "Room 301" and Social Studies teacher Mr. Wozmak on the bass guitar playing "Come Together" by The Beatles. The group recently won battle of the bands at the Hillsborough fair last Friday. Many thanks to our staff members who hosted activities during the games.
All week, students have been collecting non-perishable items for NH Tackles Hunger. We are collecting through September 23rd at all games and inside our campus. Please consider making a donation if you are able to do so.
I look forward to seeing many of you at our Open House next Wednesday evening, September 21, from 6:30 pm-8:00 pm. If you aren't able to join us in person, please know that you can directly reach out to your students' teachers for any updates or questions.
I look forward to heading out shortly to visit all of our home games on campus. Best of luck to all of our teams competing today. Go Cougars!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Heather

CLASSROOM SNAPSHOTS!
Ms. Gilpatrick's Math Class!
Ms. Gilpatrick’s geometry class is learning to find the area and perimeter of irregular shapes. The students are using their prior knowledge of regular shapes to find creative and adaptive ways to complete the problems through a variety of techniques.
Ms. Hodgdon's German Class!
The students in Ms. Hodgdon's German 1 class playing Gefaengnis. The Gefaengnis game is a way to review the letters of the alphabet. On teams, students competed head to head to identify letters of the alphabet. If they lost, they went to "jail" and if they won, they rescued someone from jail. Students had fun while cementing their knowledge in a competitive way.

Between homecoming (this afternoon and this weekend) and Friday, September 23, we are collecting food donations and raising money for the NH Tackles Hunger campaign.
To make a positive difference in our communities, bring your non-expired, non-perishable, canned food items to any of the games during Homecoming Weekend!
There is also a friendly contest involving TASC. The TASC homeroom that collects the most number of donated food items by September 23 will win a pizza party hosted by the Friends of ConVal Athletics (FCVA).
Parallel to the food donations, there is an online campaign with the goal of raising $2,500. So if you prefer to make a monetary donation, please click on this link or use the QR code in the graphic below to donate with your smartphone.
Please help if you can, every donation makes a difference!
In the past, ConVal has been a top collection site in the state. So let’s all show our Cougar pride and be the best in the state again this year!
With your help, ConVal High School and the Friends of ConVal Athletics can make a significant contribution toward ending food insecurity in our communities. Thank you in advance for your support!
