Family Well Being Focus: Dental Health
I Love You Like No Otter by Rose Rossner
There's no better way to say "I love you" than with a sweet and heartfelt animal pun book! I Love You Like No Otter combines a warm message of love with beautifully illustrated animals families will love to read and share together. From baby shower gifts for new parents to bedtime read alouds all year long, this adorable board book is purrfect for anyone you love beary much!
Let's Meet a Dentist by Bridget Heos
Have you ever had a toothache? Or gotten your teeth cleaned? Dr. Florez could help you out! She's a dentist, and today she has an office full of curious visitors. They try out her dentist's chair and look at X-rays of teeth. They also learn how she helps patients keep their teeth clean and healthy. Hooray for dentists!
Where is the Green Sheep? by Mem Fox
The search is on in this cozy, sheep-filled story from acclaimed author Mem Fox and popular Australian cartoonist Judy Horacek. Complete with sleepy rhymes and bright illustrations, this book is sure to delight children of all ages, from the very young to those just beginning to read.

Connected & Ready Parents: Jefferson Elementary
Information: Parents, caregivers and families are you looking for ways to support the positive leader in yourself? If so, then join us for Connected & Ready Parents to discover engaging and practical ways to strengthen your parenting skills. You will be empowered through 4 monthly sessions, with the final session being a celebration of your accomplishments! Sessions will be hands-on and fun-filled along with offering a comfortable setting for you to connect with other parents. Please see the timeline below for more detailed information.
Location: Jefferson Elementary School (Please bring ID to check in)

*Parents are encouraged to stay after each session to go eat lunch with their child(ren) in the cafeteria. Please let the office know when signing in that you plan to attend the session from 10-11am and then plan to go to the cafeteria to eat lunch with your child. Please check with your child’s teacher to confirm their specific lunch time.

Safe Sleep Presentation by York County Safe Kids
Parents participated in "Parent Professional Development" by learning about Safe Sleep. Each parent that attended received a car seat, pack and play, or booster seat on top of a gun lock and loads of information.
Cougar Cub Center Fun
We recently had a PJ themed Cougar Cub Center event where participants (child and caregiver/parents) dressed in their cozy PJs for fun learning activities and an interactive read aloud: Llama Llama Red Pajama by Anna Dewdney. Join us every other Friday for Cougar Cub FUN!
Expanding Fine Motor & Language skills with Parent-Child Interaction
Our group connections are events/activities that encourage parent-child interactions. We serve parents through whole group events and through 1-1 experiences with our Parent Educators. Our Parent Educators are certified PAT (Parents As Teachers) Parent Educators and serve families through coaching, hands-on activities and lessons that are tailored especially for you and your little one(s) so that you all will be school ready when that time approaches. Family Resource Center Reminders
- Parenting Partnerships: If you have a child under the age of 5 and could use some extra support with activities and resources, call us at 803-684-1504.
- Tri-District Adult Ed: Call 803-818-8440 for information and GED, ESL, and other classes/assessments offered.
- York Head Start: They are still enrolling students aged 3-4 years old. Please call 803-684-2093 for more information.
- Affinity Health Clinic at York is open on Tuesdays for local patients. Please call 803-909-6363 to make an appointment.
Need Direct Support or Resources? Drop In or Call Us
Parenting Partnerships & Family Resource Center also houses information and educational materials for parents/caregivers. Learning games, family engagement materials and books are available to check out for up to 2 weeks. There are many used books that we give away through the support of Early Learning Partnership (ELP) and community donations. We also have donations of diapers, pull-ups, formula, coats and used baby equipment that are also available to any family in need. Please contact us at 803-684-1504 for specific details.

York County First Steps is a community partner of YSD1's Parenting Partnerships and is available to support you in your parenting and help you guide your child’s learning and development.
United Way of York County
Our mission is to help 3,000 York County families achieve financial stability by 2030. We want to help local families who struggle to live above the poverty line gain financial independence.
Tender Hearts
We serve men, women and children, providing them with a safe environment, detox referral, recovery and transformational programs, job training and mentorship.
All On Board Coalition
Committed to saving lives by increasing community drug and alcohol awareness, educating students, providing support to parents, and partnering with local community agencies to prevent youth drug and alcohol use in York County.
NAMI Piedmont Tri-County
We work with those in need, those who are underprivileged, and those who are underserved and often isolated. We aim to rebuild hope and recovery for those who have a mental health diagnosis.
PATH of York, SC
PATH, Inc. exists for the purpose of helping or ministering to those in need: finding temporary aid in times of crisis, guiding those in need to appropriate social agencies, receiving contributions to support the corporation.
Early Learning Partnership of York County
ELP is working to ensure that young children in York County are ready to learn in school and in life. By mobilizing people, leveraging resources, and empowering social, emotional, and early literacy programs, ELP is preparing children, birth to age five, for school success.
