Steps in a Research Project

Steps to Success
- Start with a question, topic, or idea. Maybe your teacher has assigned the topic.
- Make a list of questions about the topic. What do you need to find out? This is where you write down the things or questions you do not know.
- Make a list of keywords based on your question.
- Login to NC Ed Cloud with your student ID and password.
- If you do not know anything about your topic- First, try Britannica encyclopedia. Next, try Ebsco Explora next. If that does not give you any information, go to https://www.wikipedia.org/ipedia. Wikipedia is fine to use if the article you find has references.
Britannica
- Login to NC Ed Cloud with your student ID and password.
- Select the Britannica icon.
- Enter keywords in the "Search" bubble in the upper right corner for your topic.
Britannica has information on lots of different topics, along with images and videos.
It is very easy to create citations on the articles, images and videos.
Britannica can read aloud the article, translate it into other languages, and you can increase the font size. T
The authors of encyclopedia articles work for that specific encyclopedia and are considered an expert in their field.

Ebsco is a collection of different sites and databases.
