Little Lancers Lowdown

Dear Little Elba Lancer Families,

It is June! In just a few short weeks our students will be enjoying summer vacation! But in the meantime, I hope your children enjoy all of the end-of-school-year activities! As you will notice from the calendar below, June will be busy right until the end.

As we wrap up the year, I can't believe how fast these months have gone, as well as how much growth we've seen from our Little Elba Lancers. Not only have our students grown taller but have learned so much.

I wanted to thank you all for welcoming me into your Lancer family. It has been a great year and I love celebrating just some of the success we've had each month in these newsletters. Thank you for the outstanding support and pride that is so much a part of our school. Working together, we can continue to provide our students with a wonderful educational experience. New York Chips is hosting a School Pride Contest. The school's mascot that has the most likes on Monday, June 12th at 9 am-ish will earn bags of individual sized chips for the school. Click the link below to like our school mascot and share the page on Facebook! Thank you!

The Elementary Student Council will be hosting the annual Field Days on Thursday, June 8th from 12 - 2pm. Students in grades UPK - 6 will be participating at the same time. We are looking for at least 14 volunteers to help with stations. This will be outside, with a raindate of June 12th. If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up through the Parent Square message. Thank you!

Thank you to everyone who was able to come out for the annual Loved Ones Luncheon. We had a great turnout! Kudos to the Elementary Student Council and all those who helped make it a success. Check out some pictures from the day!

On Thursday, May 25th, the Mental Health Team engaged our students in a Mental Health Awareness Day! Classes rotated through four stations, focusing on mindfulness, exercise, healthy eating, and gratitude.

Congratulations to our 3rd grader, Virginia, for being one of the 19th annual 2023 Casella coloring contest winners. Her recycling picture was chosen out of over 800 submissions and will be featured in the 2024 Calendar! She was surprised by her parents and the Casella representative who also answered a lot of questions by her classmates. Congratulations!

Congratulations to our May Lancer Leaders! These students demonstrated being respectful, responsible, and safe and were nominated! Keep up the good work!

If your child will be absent from school or tardy, please contact the Health Office at 585-757-9967 ext. 1240. You can leave a message any time of day or night. A written excuse must be sent when the child returns from an absence.

A few reminders:

• Please do not exit your vehicle as it holds up the line of other drop-offs.
• If you need to help your child out of the car, please park in the parking lots and walk them up.
• Do not drive around other vehicles dropping their students off.
• Please encourage your child to get out of the vehicle themselves and go right onto the sidewalk.
