SEAS Faith Formation
February 4, 2024
A Note from Driskill's Desk
In a few short weeks, our Catholic Church will enter the Lenten Season, the 40-day season of preparation for the holiest days of our liturgical year – the Paschal Triduum.
Lent is a personal and communal journey that helps us return to our baptismal promises and confront the areas of our lives needing refocus, recentering and reenergizing. Just like any journey we take in life, we must prepare ourselves for this Lenten trip with the tools and resources that will help make the journey meaningful and memorable.
I pray we can give you some tools to help your family make this a special time growing closer as a family and to God! I also ask you to pray for our Confirmation students who will have their one day retreat on February 10th.
Here are some Lenten activities you can do as a family-
Pancake Dinner
We invite you to the annual SEAS Pancake dinner in the FFYC beginning at 6pm on Tuesday, February 13th.
Lenten Family Night
March 27th at 6pm we will gather together as a faith community to pray and journey together to create family memories this Lenten season.

Here are just a few things going on with our Faith Formation program-
Children’s Liturgy
We are in need of Eucharistic ministers and ushers for our 10am children’s mass. If you are a current eucharistic minister and would like to help, please contact Luis Ramirez, our confirmation coordinator and head sacristan for the children’s mass at luis@seaschurch.com. If you are not a eucharistic minister but would like to become one, please contact Ed Gordon at ed@seaschurch.com for training.
If your child would like to participate in the children’s liturgy by reading or bringing up the gifts, please use our sign up genius link.
If your child would like to practice the songs at home or sing at the microphone, click HERE for the February songs for Children’s Church.
Once again, thank you for all your support of our SEAS faith formation program. For the most up to date information on our programs, please subscribe to flocknote, view the TVs in the building, check our website, or check out the links for our social media at the bottom of the newsletter.
As always- continue to pray for us as we continue to pray for you!
God Bless,
Mrs. Driskill

Elementary Faith Formation
Over the past few weeks, our Elementary Sacrament students were able to experience the gift of First Confession. We are so proud of all the students and honored to be a part of their sacrament journey this year. As they continue to prepare for First Eucharist, we pray that the grace received from confession continues to fill them with God's love and peace.
Thank you to all the volunteer Catechists who are working with the students to better understand the beauty and joy of our Catholic faith. We are grateful for you!
Archdiocese Safe Environment Protocols
In the month of November, our Faith Formation programs will be going over some safe environment and boundary topics with our students. Each program coordinator will provide you with more information on specifics.

Safety Procedures
The safety of our students, families, volunteers, and staff is a top priority for our Faith Formation Ministry. It is important to us that parents feel comfortable and confident while their children attend classes at SEAS. We take several steps to ensure we are providing a safe environment for all.
Each of our volunteers and all of the staff are required to take Safe Environment Trainings. Our Good Shepherd and Elementary students must be picked up from their classroom to guarantee that they leave with a trusted adult. You will also notice that we have a police officer on site during each class session.
To help with safety measures, we ask that parents read the below handbook provided by the Archdiocese of San Antonio.
