From The Principal...
Welcome back, everyone! For those of you who are new to SCMHS... Welcome To The Best School In Southwest Georgia! We hope everyone chooses to make this a great year - however, that choice is yours.
I hope each of you had a relaxing summer, and you are ready to return to school. I am looking forward to seeing your smiling faces grace our hallways and classrooms soon on Wednesday, August 2nd.
Our teachers are working relentlessly on mastering their teaching craft so that you receive a successful and meaningful learning experience. Please come prepared to learn and to be actively involved because you're going to get out of it what you put into it.
Parents, please get involved in your child's education, if you haven't done so because soon they will be out on their own and your positive influence can inspire them to greater things. You, as a parent, also get out of this experience what you put into it. I hope you make this a great year!

SC Athletics
Fall sports are underway with Softball already competing in games. Football and Cheerleading have been practicing all summer as they are hoping for a great season. Cross Country is beginning this week as well.

Plan to buy your season tickets for our football games. Individual tickets at the gate for varsity football games this year have increased to $10.00 per person. We expect our fans to make our home game environments so good that everyone who visits our stadium is envious. Call the school office for more information about purchasing your game tickets. New Direction For The Green Machine
The SCMHS Marching Band will be under the leadership of a new band director, Chelsea Willis. Chelsea played in the Marching Band at Arkansas State University where she recently graduated.
Already, Ms. Willis has raised the bar of expectations for her students as they are required to practice throughout the summer and send in their videos each week to show improvements. She wants the band to go to competitions and she wants them to grow in numbers. We look forward to seeing what the prideful Green Machine will produce, and how they will grow over the upcoming years.
