Conference Week

Our staff will be on a half day schedule Wednesday through Friday for conferences this upcoming week. If you would like to schedule a conference with a teacher to discuss grades, attendance and what we can do to help support your student this year, please send an email directly to that teacher. In addition, our staff is always available to meet with you as parents and/or communicate through email as needed. Please always reach out with any questions you have.

It is important to look at the schedule for this week below. We will not have late start on Wednesday this week (7:40am until 10:40am) because of our half day schedule.

Boys Basketball

The Boys Basketball team had a busy week with three games! They played at Cascade Middle School on Monday, against Stanwood Middle School on Tuesday, and at North Whidbey on Thursday. Highlights of the games include: 7th grade jv boys played four highly competitive games this week to get the season rolling. Big contributions from Carter and Myles in each game. Honor players of the week go to Connor, Bronson, Wyatt and Casey for great sportsmanship and effort! The 8th Grade Boys JV Basketball team had a fun and busy week of basketball. They lost a couple of tough games with Cascade and North Whidbey but played hard. They also played an epic Red/White intersquad game. The honor of the game bracelets were given to Braden, Axel and Gabe for their awesome attitudes. They show great sportsmanship and always give their best effort. Way to go Knights! 7th Grade varsity had exciting games including overcoming a 10 point deficit in the 4th quarter. Ethan hit a 3 pointer to tie the game late in the 4th to send it to overtime and Chris hit a big shot in overtime to take the lead. The Knights were led in scoring by Bodi with 8 points. The honor of the game bracelet goes to Booth for his amazing energy and effort on defense. Great job by all. The 8th Grade Varsity played great games including having a 20 point lead. Brenner earned Honor of The Game for his team leadership and his great defense helping lead the team into a smooth win. Nice job Knights!

Staff Shout Out

In Honor of National STEM/STEAM week, our staff shout out goes to Mrs. Gale. National STEM/STEAM Day is celebrated every year on November 8 to encourage kids to explore their interests in science, technology, engineering, arts and math careers.

This is Mrs. Gale's 9th year at Port Susan Middle School. She has taught science, math, applied technology, stem, and robotics. Her favorite thing about PSMS is the friendly staff and students. Outside of school, she loves playing with her two daughters. She also enjoys cooking and baking.

District Information

YMCA wins grants to help local students

The Stanwood-Camano YMCA has been awarded a grant from Island County Grant, which will specifically aid youth who live on Camano Island.

This grant enables the YMCA to provide Teen Memberships, Teen Programming, Teen Swim/Sport Lessons, and more to those who qualify. The YMCA said supporting the health, social development, and overall well-being of local youth is a strong investment in the future of our community.

To be eligible for these benefits, students must be residents of Camano Island and be between 6th graders through 12th graders who are 17 years old."
