It was great to be back to school! The staff and students were hard at work this week getting back into the groove!

Next week students will be participating in the 4/8 run in PE. Please be sure to bring tennis shoes for class!

Our annual Body Safety program is coming up! Students will participate in this program on either November 1 or November 2 unless a parent/guardian has returned an opt-out form. If you need another copy of the informational letter that outlines the curriculum and/or an opt-out form, please let your child's teacher know. These items are also included in this week's newsletter. All opt-out forms are due by October 25, 2023. Please let us know if you have any questions!

Thank you to everyone that donated candy for the Trunk or Treat event! It is great when communities come together to support students!

Starting November 6, Hendricks Turkey Battle begins! Staff will disguise a turkey to keep them safe this season! Students will vote for their favorite turkey using coins! All silver coins will count toward positive points. All pennies will count toward negative points! We will keep a running total each day to determine a winner! All money collected will be donated to Pantry Pals so they can purchase needed items this holiday season! I can't wait to see the creativity of the Hendricks staff! Students, start taking some time to do a few extra chores around the house to earn some coins for this year's Turkey Battle!

Thank you for your participation in Parent/Teacher conferences! It is always great celebrating student success and setting goals for future accomplishments! If at any time you have questions about your student's progress, please reach out to his/her teacher.

Calling all future WNBA stars! Forms for Girls Basketball are due on Thursday, October 26! Forms can be picked up in the GREEN HALLWAY!

Please see the attached information regarding our Child Lures Body Safety program.

In an effort to eliminate the wait time after school Hendricks will be reorganizing dismissal at the end of each day. Students going to the Boys/Girls Club after school, will be dismissed to buses at 2:18. They will be transported to the Club and the buses will return to HES. Once all of the buses arrive back at HES, the remaining students will load to go home. This will delay dismissal 5-10 minutes each day. This process will begin on Monday, October 16, 2023. Feel free to give us a call if you have any questions! Thanks for understanding!

We are asking that any requests for a transportation change be submitted to the office no later than 1:30 pm daily. A reminder that requests must be consistent throughout the week, meaning that the pick up and/or drop off address remains the same all week.
