Scheduling Information From the Counselors
Dear 7th Grade Parents/Guardians,
Scheduling for the 2020-2021 school year is upon us! For current 7th grade students we incorporate an online scheduling component in which the students will be entering their course requests into an online portal. Below is a general outline of what to expect.
● Teacher Recommendation Day will be on Wednesday, January 29 where all teachers will speak with students about the course(s) recommended for them for next year.
● After Teacher Recommendation Day, a packet will be mailed home. This packet will include the students’ course selectors, which will show the teacher recommendations. Online scheduling directions will also be included in the mailer.
● Students will need to enter their course requests into the online scheduling portal by Wednesday, February 12. In order to log in to the portal, students will need to use the username and password provided on the bottom of the course selector.
● During the week of February 3, the counseling team will be available during Flex Time bell to assist students and answer any questions related to the online scheduling process.
● On Friday, February 21, verification sheets will be sent home with all students so that course requests can be reviewed.
We look forward to working with you and your student as they plan for next year!
Best regards,

PTO Hassle Free Fundraising
You have raised over $1400 with Hassle Free Fundraising!
Whether you clipped, scanned, downloaded or chowed down, our Sycamore Junior High Community raised over $1400 in the first semester with Kroger Community Rewards, Box Tops, Pipkins and our City BBQ Fundraiser. A huge THANK YOU from the PTO.
Haven’t participated yet? It isn’t too late, read on for ways to support your PTO with ‘hassle-free’ fundraising:
Kroger donates a percentage of your purchase to our school if you designate “Sycamore Junior High” as your recipient in the Kroger Community Rewards program. Logon to kroger.com, sign into your Kroger account and choose Sycamore Junior High as your community rewards organization.
Box Tops for Education (BTFE) – Collect Box Tops on all eligible products and turn your clipped box tops into collection box outside of the School Office. NEW this year, BTFE will phase in electronic box tops. With the electronic box tops, just download the app, shop, then scan your receipt into the app– it’s that simple!
Pipkin’s Fruit and Vegetable Market donates a percentage of every purchase back to the school! Just return your receipts to the box marked “Pipkins” outside of the School Office
AVES BASH
The annual AVES BASH is Wednesday, February 12th after school. Student pick up will be at 5pm from either side of the building. There will be games, raffle prizes, music, and more! Food & drinks will be available to purchase for $1. Small bills are appreciated. In order for this event to be a success we need your help! Please be on the lookout for a Sign Up Genius link with volunteer opportunities. We hope to see you there!
