NO COSTUMES or MASKS
As we approach Tuesday, October 31, we would like to kindly remind everyone that students may not come to school in costumes or masks on that day. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in ensuring a safe and focused learning environment for all our students.
Instead, to show support for Bullying Prevention and Awareness Month, students are encouraged to wear an orange shirt on this day. It's a meaningful way for us to come together as a school community and raise awareness about the importance of creating a kind and inclusive environment for all.
We thank you for your commitment to our school's NESTed core values and your dedication to the safety and well-being of all our students. Let's make October 31 a day to stand united against bullying and discrimination.

PBIS Punctuality Blitz!
Timely attendance is crucial for maximizing your learning opportunities and fostering responsibility. Let’s commit to starting each school day punctually to ensure a successful academic journey. Parents your support is needed as many of our students are provided transportation by you :+)
From October 30 to November 10 we will be conducting a punctuality blitz. All students who arrive to school on time during the blitz period, will be able to participate in an incentive event. The event will include food and fun for all students who meet the standard. Students must be marked present for class and ready for instruction each period of the day during the blitz.
Parking Expectations
- All students and staff must display a FHHS car hangtag while parked on campus during business hours
- Students must park in the designated student parking area
- Students must see Mr. Ford during lunches to request a tag
- Failure to comply with parking requirements will result in progressive responses: warning, window tagging, and towing.
1st Quarter Ends Thursday, November 2nd
- Parents, please review schoolmax to ensure grades align with your expectations. If you are regularly monitoring your child's grades, there should be no surprises once grades are released.
- Require your child to open Canvas for you to view upcoming and/or missing assignments.
- Teachers are not required to accept late work. However, most will with effective communication and effort from students.
- Teachers may not accept late work after Friday, October 27th unless there are documented extenuating circumstances.
- Students who are currently enrolled in virtual credit recovery classes will receive a 1st quarter grade based on their current academic status. The grade is a combination of both the overall grade as well as the completion rate. For example, a student may currently have an overall grade of 78; However, if their completion rate is lower than 100% at midnight on October 26th, they will not receive a passing grade for quarter 1.
- Please note that athletic eligibility for winter sports is contingent upon 1st quarter grades.
November 16th: Math Literacy and College and Career Night
- Join us in person on Thursday, November 16th where we will showcase Math learning strategies for our 9th and 10th grade students/families as well as college and Career options for our 11th and 12th students
- Refreshments provided at 5:30 (while food lasts)
- Event starts at 6:00pm
- Language Interpretation services
Uniform Expectations
- Hoodies are not allowed in the building. Upon entering the building, students must place their hoodies in their locker or book bag. This is a district expectation, and if you have any questions or concerns about this policy, please contact the Area Office.
- Students must wear the appropriate polo shirt. Please contact your child's grade level administrator if you need assistance with a uniform. There have been instances where we have attempted to provide a uniform for students and they have refused to wear the shirt because of size. Starting Tuesday, September 12th, students will serve In School Suspension when they are out of uniform. They must wear the polo even if they are wearing a sweater/sweatshirt
- All sweaters, crew necks, or hoodless sweatshirts must be in school colors (maroon/burgundy, white, black, or gray, or any combination of the colors). Students will be asked to place out-of-uniform items in their locker. Refusal to comply with this reasonable request will result in further consequences.
- No sweaters/sweatshirts with inappropriate language.
- All coats must be placed in the locker.
- Skirts and shorts must come to the knee. A number of our young ladies are wearing skirts that are more appropriate for cheer camp than school.
- We are in the last phases of distributing IDs. Once students receive them, they are expected to wear them as part of their uniform
Expectativas uniformes
Padres, gracias por apoyar nuestros esfuerzos para mantener un ambiente seguro y ordenado. En gran parte, los estudiantes han cumplido y respondido a las expectativas. Sin embargo, todavía hay algunos que no cumplen. Continúe animando a su hijo a usar el uniforme apropiado. Tenga en cuenta los detalles adicionales a continuación:
- No se permiten sudaderas con capucha en el edificio. Al ingresar al edificio, los estudiantes deben colocar sus sudaderas con capucha en su casillero o mochila. Esta es una expectativa del distrito y, si tiene alguna pregunta o inquietud sobre esta política, comuníquese con la Oficina del Área.
- Los estudiantes deben usar la camiseta polo adecuada. Comuníquese con el administrador del nivel de grado de su hijo si necesita ayuda con el uniforme.
