SFSS Family Newsletter

This past week many of our students experienced lovely Masses. One at the cathedral and Ascension Thursday. We learned through the homilies that Jesus was greatly loved by his disciples and his Mother and that Jesus had to ascend into Heaven to leave his disciples to carry out his Word and works. It is a great reminder every year to discover our love for Jesus and to show our love by following His example everyday.

May is wrapping up quickly. There are many events and activities coming up to note.

We have been featured quite often in the Catholic Courier and we are getting a very positive buzz online. We appreciate everyone spreading the good news of SFSS. We have a couple opportunities to increase our enrollment and get our name out in the community with the Memorial Day Parades.

I am asking that everyone prayerfully consider walking in one of the two parades to help pass out bottles of water and candy. Students participating should decorate their bikes, scooters, or wagons. We definitely need wagons to carry the water. Information about the Waterloo parade on Saturday, May 27th is coming soon. The Geneva parade is Monday, May 29th. We will line up at the Geneva Rec Center at 9 am.

We still are looking for donations of:

• candy to put in our labeled bags. It's a good time to rid your house of individually wrapped Easter candy. :)
• bottles of water.

Thank you to our families for all they do to help our school!

Our annual band concert is this Wednesday, May 24th at 7 pm. The concert will take place in St. Stephen Church.

All are welcome to attend.

Join the Rochester Catholic Schools for a Red Wings Game on Sunday, June 4th!

Students can parade around the field before the game at 12:05 pm.

Game starts at 1:05 pm. Students can run the bases after the game.

Tickets are $10 each.

Attached is the order form due by May 24th and a form was sent home with students.

Yes, this is the same day as the Red Wings' Game. This is just an opportunity for family fun.

The Sons of Italy will be hosting a Kids' Bingo at the Sons of Italy.

June 4th from 12 pm to 3 pm.

Admission:

Adults $5

Kids FREE

Join the PTO on June 10th at the Geneva YMCA from 4-6pm.

For all current and newly registered school families. It will be a fun event at the Y.

Just a little reminder to continue to work on filling your Kindness Calendars. We ask that everyone do what they can. Every little bit helps us meet our fundraising goal.

Everything mentioned on the calendar in terms of school improvements we want to be able to accomplish in the future.

Don't forget there are activities that we will do in June as community service and the donations made for those activities help us be able to do them.

Kindness Calendars are due on or before June 1st.

Due to New York Gambling Laws and Regulations, we have to make a slight change to our raffle ticket selling incentives.

We will still honor the top two classes earning a pizza party.

For the top two sellers, we will have to make adjustments to the VIP passes and prizes to conform to the laws and regulations.
