Would you like to be a Host Family in 2023/24?
GLOBE is looking for Host Families for the year 2023/24. Language Support Assistants (LSA) from China, France, and Spain, are an essential piece of instruction at The GLOBE Academy and we are excited to have the opportunity to continue this wonderful support program. Please reach out to Mrs. Daphna Malka if you are interested in hosting.
Lower Campus notes
Francophonie culminating event
We had a huge turnout of GLOBE families at the Francophonie culminating event that took place on Monday. Our students did a fantastic job and we are pleased to include a few photos and some video footage from the event, here.
Mezzy Mezz workshop
Mezzy Mezz entertained LC students on March 16. Mezzy Mezz is an engaging and interactive show (by teaching artist, Jimez Alexander) that utilizes music and imaginative play to help build social and emotional skills. The students had a great time. Thank you to our school counselor, Ms. Grant, for organizing this great event.
Safety first when driving
Please remember that our campus is located in a residential neighborhood. Drive carefully and CREST-fully (and be mindful of the speed limit) on your way to and from school. It’s crucial that we keep our community and neighbors safe.
LC artwork
Some of the amazing artwork that adorns our walls at Lower Campus.
Upper Campus notes
Francophonie performance at UC, Friday, March 24.
We will have the UC culminating celebratory presentation of Francophonie at 1:30pm this Friday, and parents/guardians of performers are invited to attend. The performance will also be shown on YouTube, here. Important: Please park across the road at Church in Atlanta.
Cell biology science activity
5th grade Mandarin track students completed a cell biology science activity and we are pleased to share a few pictures from this fun event. Thanks to parent presenter Laura Gieraltowski and volunteers Carrie Brown and Laura Hancock.
Celebrating famous women in history
We are continuing to celebrate famous women in history during the month of March. Here, 4th grade Mandarin track students are pictured making Women's History Month morning announcements.
MAP Testing, March 20-31
We are currently completing spring MAP tests, ending March 31. It is very important that your student(s) attend school and get a good night's rest during this period.
Milestones testing dates changed to April 19–28.
Parent Resources for Milestones can be found here.
Music
Students completed their Large Group Evaluation
Congratulations to our 7th and 8th grade bands on their successful LGPE performance last Friday. The judges awarded ratings of I (superior) and II (excellent). More importantly, however, the students demonstrated incredible growth as musicians and as a team throughout their preparation for the concert and on the concert day. Click here to watch a video of the concert.

Expressions in Motion performance
On Saturday, April 22, GLOBE students who participate in the Expressions In Motion Dance Program will be performing alongside children from other local schools (Oak Grove Elementary and Sagamore Hills Elementary), at Gas South Theatre. The children work very hard all year, and they would love some support from the GLOBE community at this event. The show starts at 7:15pm. Please note that this event is not a GLOBE event. For event information contact EIM Dance.
