Principal's Message
Happy Sunday Falcons-
I hope everyone is finding successful ways to stay warm during this cold weather we're having! It's always a good idea to keep an eye on our local news channels and city websites/social media for updates and weather-related tips when it's this cold.
As a reminder, all LDISD campuses will be closed on Monday 1/15 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. We'll welcome our Falcons back on Tuesday 1/16; it will be a "B" day.
Typically the doors to our campus stay closed until 8am. While our temperatures are below 40 degrees, we will allow students to enter through the front, main entry (by the flagpole) prior to 8am. Any students dropped off before their normal time must wait in the cafeteria. Families- please make sure that students are dressed appropriately for the cold temperatures, especially those who walk from surrounding neighborhoods.
Report cards for fall semester are now posted in Skyward Family Access. Please check these out and communicate with teachers if you have any questions or concerns. As a reminder, high school credit for courses is issued by semester, not by the 9-weeks grades. In order to determine if your child has passed a course and earned credit, please look at the semester grade. Semester grades should be 70 or above.
Last but not least- a huge thank you to our PTSA and Sunshine committee for spoiling our staff with some sweet treats during finals week! We truly appreciate the support you give to our campus community. Thank you to everyone who helped with donations!
Ms. Avelino

In addition to learning the lifesaving techniques of quality compressions, breaths and AED use, students are able to identify all AEDs on campus, how to communicate with Emergency operators, and how to help if someone is choking .
