Hadley PTA Fundraising Efforts - Principal Steve Diveley shared information about Turkey and Syria Earthquake support efforts led by the Hadley PTA and Hadley students. He also talked about how students learned from the experience.

NWEA Insights Report for the 2023 School Year | watch
Assistant Superintendent for Teaching, Learning and Accountability Dr. Kris Webster and a representative from NWEA presented academic data on achievement and growth. They answered Board questions and engaged in conversation about the assessment and the data presented. Dr. Webster highlighted the celebrations and the areas for improvement. Elementary Literacy Pilot Update | watch
Dr. Webster provided an update about the upcoming literacy curriculum pilot across the district. Click here for the information slide presented to the Board.
Superintendent’s Report | watch
Full-Day Kindergarten Center Update
Dr. Kaczkowski shared that the District has asked Wight & Co. to create a timeline for next steps in the process to build and open a full-day kindergarten center addition at Churchill School for kindergarten students across the district. Assistant Superintendent for Finance, Facilities and Operations Eric DePorter expanded on the process and what to expect moving forward. Dr. Kaczkowski also provided information about storm shelter requirements and costs related to the new full-day kindergarten center. Wight & Co. will be bringing more details to the next Board meeting and will be in attendance to answer questions.
Estate Donation to Hadley Library
Dr. Kaczkowski announced that a donation of over $30,000 was made by a personal estate to Hadley Junior High to support the Hadley library.
Unpaid Fees
Dr. Kaczkowski shared that the District has a number of unpaid fees by families in District 41. She asked how the Board would like to move forward with collecting the fees.
Large Lawsuit Against Various Social Media Outlets
Dr. Kaczkowski explained that a number of districts are coming together to develop a lawsuit against social media outlets related to cyber bullying and mental health. Dr. Kazkowski would like to invite the District’s legal counsel to present information to the Board about this lawsuit and District 41’s options to join the lawsuit or not. The Board supports District 41 legal counsel attending a Board meeting to present more information.
