Yearbook
Calling All Photographers
The best way to make sure you’re in the yearbook is to send us your pictures. Email pictures to Ms. Rice at lrice@sandi.net or upload your photos directly to the folders in TreeRing.
Show us your spirit! We’re looking for all things spirit: team spirit (world cup, world series, Superbowl) and school spirit (spirit days, MEA gear).
MEA is all about pursuing your passion and we want to feature that in the yearbook. So send us pictures of you and your classmates Pursuing Your Passions. Whether it's music, art, dance, athletics, philanthropy, advocacy, debate, and so on, we want to see it.

Calling all Artists
Hello, young artists at MEA. If you are looking to publish your work in a magazine, this is the place for you. Heights is MEA's literary magazine that offers a platform for young artists to amplify their voices and share their work. We are accepting submissions of original work for our winter issue now. We accept art, poetry, short stories, essays, short films, excerpts from novels, and more. For this issue, there is an Open Book section which has no theme, and a themed section called New Beginnings. Works in this category could be about new changes, starting over, new ideas and discoveries, and/or new chapters in one's life. Your work will featured in our issues on the Heights website.

Nature Walk Meetup
March Nature Walk Meetup at Mission Gorge in Mission Trails Regional Park
Friday, March 3 @ 9:30-11:00 am
Meet at the Park Ranger/Docent Building at Bushy Hill Dr & Father Junipero Serra Trail.
Google Maps location: 10288 Bushy Hill Dr, Santee, CA 92071.
There is a parking lot and street parking available. Restrooms are available near our meeting place.
Rain update: Meetup time and location are unchanged, but the walk has changed due to flooding at Kumeyaay Lake.
At 9:30, we’ll briefly introduce the path and start our group walk along Father Junipero Serra Trail. This is a wide, paved path closed to vehicle traffic. It has almost no elevation changes and is accessible for strollers. We’ll return to the trailhead by 11:00am. Mission Trails is seeing a lot of green right now and will be fun to explore with all of the recent rains.
Prepare for mud and puddles. Rain 60 minutes prior will cancel the event.
Mission Trails Regional Park Visitor and Interpretive Center is an educational resource to learn about MTRP past and present, located 3 miles away from the trailhead and open from 9:00am-5:00pm daily.
San Diego Youth Theatre
Some of MEA's own students will be performing in the San Diego Youth Theatre's rendition of Hamilton. There performances will be held at La Jolla Recreational Center, Feb. 24 & 25 and Mar 3 & 4. Doors will open at 6:30. Performances are free to attend.

Mr. Spiegelberg will be attending, and possibly one or two more MEA teachers.
This is a great opportunity to gain volunteer hours! High school students who acquire 120 + volunteer hours are recognized for their hard work at graduation with a cord and call out in the program.
Please send any information for the Monday Message using the Google form by end of day Thursday for upcoming message. If you have any question please contact Mrs. Keck at mkeck@sandi.net.
