Assemblies
The TMS ASB and Mrs. Cardinale hosted two successful assemblies this week. On Monday, students attended a program led by Kim Karr from #ICANHELP. It was an amazing (and eye-opening) presentation on the current state of social media. Kim educated our students on how to avoid the pitfalls of social media, how to maintain a positive reputation online and how to deal with cyberbullying.
At lunch, Kim presented to nearly 200 parents (and their students) during our "Bring a loved one to lunch" activity. Again, thanks to Mrs. Cardinale and her ASB students for putting this event together!!
On Tuesday, some of our very talented students performed in our TMS Talent Show. It was a lot of fun and we were happy to see so many parents stop by to watch with us.
8th grader information for promotion
8th grade students are required to have a 2.0 GPA (during the 2 semesters of 8th grade) to attend promotion and go on the Knott's Berry Farm trip. Counselors have already met with any student with a GPA between 0.0 and 2.3 to let them know their academic expectations for semester 2. The final grade check for these students falls on May 10. At this point, there are no exceptions to the 2.0 GPA rule.
Discipline points
8th grade students are required to have fewer than 20 points to attend promotion and fewer than 12 points to go on the Knott's Berry Farm trip. Assistant Principal Mrs. Fuehrer is currently meeting with students in danger of not meeting these requirements.
