Holly Ridge Middle Weekly Update

It’s going to be a great week for our Hornets!

This week we will celebrate our bus drivers during Love the Bus Week! We are so appreciative of our dedicated professionals who take special care to ensure the safety of our students on their journey to and from school each day.

Last Wednesday, we met with our students for the second semester’s student talks. During our discussion, we talked about our upcoming events and reminded the students to finish the school year strong.

Please remember next Monday and Tuesday, February 19th and February 20th, there will be no school for students.

Rising 9th Grade Parents:

Spring Sports Tryout Information:

Spring sports begin February 21st. We will have tryouts Feb. 21 and 22. We will not have tryouts on Friday February 23 due to the dance. We will continue tryouts on Monday, February 26th. Approximately 3:15-5:00.

Please make sure that both of the following are complete. 1. All paperwork must be complete in dragonfly and Green indicating it is correct and valid. 2. Please sign up on the google form for your sport.

PTA Updates:

• Book Drive continues through this Wednesday, February 14th

• We are accepting new or gently used children’s books for all ages/reading levels

• We are SO CLOSE to our goal of 500 books - please show some love and help us reach it!
  
  

• PTA Meeting this Tuesday, February 13th, at 6:00 PM in the HRMS Media Center

• All PTA members are welcome to join in-person or virtually!

• A calendar invitation with meeting link has been sent to members; a final agenda is forthcoming and will be added to the calendar invitation when ready
  
  

• HRMS spirit all day event!

• Join us for a spirit event this Tuesday February 13, 2024 any time from 6:30 AM - 9:00 PM at the Chick-fil-A in Holly Springs (801 Village Walk Drive)

• Be sure to let them know you are in there in support of Holly Ridge Middle School!
  
  

• Winter Dance (Let's Glow!)

• February 23, 2024 from 3:30 - 5:30 PM

• We are in need of volunteers to help set-up for or chaperone the dance!

• We currently only have half of the chaperones needed; if we do not have enough chaperones, we cannot hold the dance

• Can't be there in person? You can still help by donating drinks, chips, or candy for the event.

• All sign ups can be done here

• As a reminder, all WCPSS parent and community volunteers are required to register through the MyVolunteer system

• If you have not yet been approved this school year, please visit Parent and Community Volunteers Registration to register
