Spring has finally Sprung! We ended 2022 with our Holiday Party and thoughts of making tons of new memories in 2023. Right after we got back from Winter break, we started our second session of clubs, and the students were instantly having an amazing time. Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to the first few months of the new year...
In an effort to support students develop social responsibility, determine what matters to them in a classroom, and take responsibility for upholding those values, we established a Classroom Contract. Both students and staff worked together to set and maintain agreed upon guidelines. Students continued to receive WOW tickets for demonstrating good behavior, giving a helping hand, and working together as a team. Our kids are inspired to be the greatest versions of themselves everyday.
This session we welcomed a new outside provider KidStock!, a creative theater class with Mr. Peter. The kids had a blast. It was very wonderful to see their creativity come through!
Mrs. Whitney's K-1 crew enjoyed trying new clubs and developing new skills! Bingo Math was a big hit as some have learned to play bingo for the first time while others racked up lots of prizes. In Just Legos, students used their imagination to create some incredible structures, and others practiced mindfulness and showed off their advanced moves in Yoga.
2nd - 3rd students studied creatures they don't typically see thanks to Mrs. Zahid's awesome Animal Planet lessons. In Measure Around the School, they had fun exploring the building and measuring everything from doors to tables and tiles. In Weather Club, they built their very own windmill and put it to the test.
Ms. Christiana's 2nd-3rd grade Crafts Club had students learning everything from the art of origami to writing Chinese characters. They were incredibly proud of their work.
In Mrs. Esposito 2nd-3rd grade Recycled Art Club students were given recycled supplies and were challenged to come up with something new every week. They tapped into their creative sides and they rose to the challenge and exceeded expectations.
Mrs. Esposito's 4th-6th graders learned the importance of keeping our body and minds active and calm in Yoga and Mindfulness Club. In Book Club students read A Dog’s Life and were rewarded by getting to watch the movie on the last day. In our No Bake Cooking Club the students were excited to learn how to cook sweet and savory treats. Board Games were a lot of fun, students showed their competitive side and also good sportsmanship.
To our 3 students of the month who have demonstrated Compassion, Participation, and Most Effort...Congratulations! Special thanks to our staff for showing up each day and making it such a great learning experience for our students!
