Next Wednesday, October 18th, we will be having school photos. We will have Molly Condit from SunStreet Photo here to take portrait shots and class photos for all students and staff. She will send home proofs and order forms a week or two later.

All students, K-8, are heading to the Vail Theater of the Arts to see the Empire High School production of "Once Upon This Time" the Thursday we get back after fall break on October 19th. Please fill out the google form below to give permission for your child to attend.

We are looking for a small committee of people to come together to help us decide what the school community would like to see in the empty lot just west of the Upper School. If you are interested in being a part of this committee, please email BJ Madsen at madsenb@vailschooldistrict.org.

Civano Community School is again partnering with Junior Achievement this year to provide the JA Days educational enrichment program to our students. This exciting educational event uses our parents as volunteers to lead fun, interactive sessions that connect the classroom to the world of work, by teaching our students about money, decision making, businesses and careers.

We are looking for two volunteers for each classroom for our JA Days on Wednesday, October 25th and Thursday, October 26th from 8:30am-12:00pm, each day. The program will be divided in to two half days. Volunteers are asked to commit to both dates.

Our volunteer orientation will be held at our school on Wednesday October 18th at 3:00pm. JA will supply all of the materials and training; our parent volunteers will share their time, experience and insight to help our students build their futures!

As a parent, you are already aware of the great impact an adult can have on the life of a child. We invite you to help make an impact on our community’s future by volunteering with us at our Civano Community School JA Days. You can learn more about the JA program by going to the link below.

HELP NEEDED! We are looking for lighting for the field for the Harvest Hop. We have some super fun things planned for the field this year and we need lighting to make it work. If you have any lights or know someone that will lend them, please contact Sarah at sarah.abbott14@gmail.com. We are also looking for help the evening of the event. Chili Cookoff at the Harvest Hop! Make your favorite Chili recipe to share at the Harvest Hop. Prizes will be awarded! Please bring your crock-pot and an extension cord labeled with your name.

Dessert, Fruit or Veggie Potluck at the Harvest Hop! Bring your favorite item and come hungry!

We are so fortunate to have a wonderful chef that makes delicious and healthy meals for our children. Our food quality and variety far surpasses any other school lunches around, but Chef Lita cannot do it alone. She needs help with the clean-up every day so that she can continue to provide our school with the lunches we've come to expect. Please continue to support our kitchen.
