From Ms. O's Desk
Dear Quetzal Families,
We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health and high spirits. As we eagerly prepare for the upcoming academic year, we are thrilled to welcome you back to Gabriela Mistral, a school that embraces the power of biliteracy, cultural diversity, and holistic development.
At Mistral, we pride ourselves on offering an enriching Dual Immersion program that fosters the love for languages and promotes biliteracy. Our students are given the unique opportunity to become proficient in two languages, providing them with a competitive advantage in an increasingly interconnected world. Whether your child speaks English or another language, we are committed to nurturing their linguistic abilities and helping them grow into global citizens.
As a school community, we embrace and celebrate cultural diversity, acknowledging the richness it brings to our classrooms. We encourage students to share their customs, traditions, and experiences, fostering a sense of understanding, respect, and unity among all members of our school family.
Academic achievement is of paramount importance to us, and our highly skilled and dedicated staff strive to create a challenging yet nurturing learning environment. Through innovative teaching methods and research-based practices, we aim to provide every student with the tools they need to reach their full potential and become lifelong learners.
Furthermore, we deeply value the socio-emotional well-being of our students. We recognize that a happy and emotionally resilient child is better equipped to face life's challenges. Mistral promotes social-emotional learning, helping students develop self-awareness, empathy, and coping skills to navigate their emotions effectively.
As we embark on this new academic journey, we want to assure you that your child's safety and well-being are our top priorities. We will continue to follow all health guidelines and best practices to ensure a safe and secure learning environment for everyone.
We are excited to welcome our new families to our school and welcome back our returning Quetzales to Gabriela Mistral. Together, we will nurture a generation of compassionate, bilingual, and academically accomplished young minds, ready to make a positive impact on the world.
Please feel free to reach out to our school office if you have any questions or need further information. We look forward to seeing you at the start of the new school year.
Warm regards,
Claudia Olaciregui, Principal
