Individual Career Academic Planning
On Tuesday and Thursday, November 14 and 16, we will be using Advisory Time for all students to complete their November ICAP Activities (as well as catch up on their ICAP Activities from September and October). Completing ICAP Activities each year in high school is a requirement for graduation, so we are dedicating school time to help our students complete these tasks. Some activities are short surveys, and others are goal-setting or goal-oriented activities. Students work on these activities each month leading up to enrollment in February (for non-Seniors) and in preparation for graduation in May (for Seniors).
Construction (Extending A and B Halls)
On Monday, November 13th, our six classroom new construction that will extend A and B Halls will begin. This will mean that students and staff cannot enter or exit to the West out of A Hall or B Hall. The exterior door entrance/exit on C Hall and D Hall will still be accessible during construction as will the West Bus Loop. Thank you for your flexibility and patience as we begin this project. The goal is the six new classrooms ready for occupancy when school starts in August, 2024.
Pre-ACT Exam for Sophomores
All Sophomores will take the Pre-ACT Exam on Wednesday, November 15th, 2023. Sophomores will miss their AM classes on this day so that they can take the exam. This is an excellent opportunity for students to see where they are academically prior to taking the ACT Exam as Juniors.
Thanksgiving Week Break
Thanksgiving Week Break will take place from November 18 thru November 26, 2023. School will resume on Monday, November 27, 2023.
Winter Formal (Dance)
The Winter Formal Dance will take place on Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 7:00-10:00 pm at Edmond Santa Fe. Students wanting to attend may purchase tickets for $25 (November 8 thru November 17) and for $30 (November 27 thru December 8). This event is open to all Santa Fe students. There is an Outside Guest form to complete if a Santa Fe student wants to bring a friend from another Edmond School (Boulevard, Memorial, North, or Virtual Edmond).
Semester Tests and Winter Break
Semester Tests will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 19 and 20, 2023. Only students with an extenuating reason (medical or family emergency) may be approved to take tests early. Students who miss one or both semester test days will need to be prepared to take final exams January 9-12, 2024 when school resumes following Winter Break.

Schedule Change Request Form for Second Semester
During the week of November 27 thru December 1, schedule change request forms for second semester will be available in the counseling center and freshman office. Submitting a request for schedule change does not mean that one can be granted. As a large high school, there is little room in the Overall School Schedule to move students from one class to another. Only for an extenuating reason will a schedule change be approved. Administrators will make the decisions about schedule changes.
Tardies/Absences
Tardies and Unverified Absences are two areas where we are striving to make improvements with our students. It is important for students to understand that the five minute passing period does not allow time to stop in the hallways and visit with friends. Students should keep moving to their next classes unless there is a reason for a detour (restroom, office, media center). With absences, parents please help us by verifying why your student is absent to our attendance office. Medical, Illness, Family Emergency, Judicial, and Religious absences need to be documented for our required record-keeping for the State Department of Education. Our goal is to limit unverified absences that have no documentation as to the reason for absence.
