Principal's Weekly Update

Greetings from your principal, Jennifer Newby.

A great week is ahead for the Hornets! Our first dance of the year, Tropical Tides Dance, was held on Friday. We had lots of students participate and a great time was had by all! We would like to thank everyone who helped make our dance a success!

This week is the last full week of school before the end of the first quarter. Please be sure to check Powerschools and encourage your student to finish the quarter strong! The last day of the quarter is October 31st. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your student’s teacher with any questions.

Attention 7th and 8th grade families:

Basketball Tryouts will begin on Wednesday, November 15th.

PTA Happenings:

Today is the last day to preorder the 3 new fall spirit wear items . They're unique items only available through pre-order. Don't miss out!

Tomorrow is the last day for Our Coin War! Students can add points for their team by donating pennies and bills. Sabotage other teams with any silver coins! You can help with an online donation here. Every dollar counts! Team and grade level prizes will be awarded!

There is an information session on October 24, 2023 at 6 pm at HSHS for all interested in joining the Junior Hawks team which is for anyone grades 6-8. There is also an interest form link for parents to fill out. Guard Info. Slide.

Southern Region Resource Event: Information from our Social Worker, Mr. Gaddy.

Attention Seventh Grade Parents:

This week, Oct. 23rd - 29th 7th grade students will be receiving the Signs of Suicide Program during their 3rd elective period. This is a required lesson given to all 7th graders in Wake County. Please see the links below with the parent letter with an opt out permission form as well as the Brief Screening for Adolescent Depression.
