Thank you Lions Club for kicking off our library's goal to purchase a book vending machine! They made a $1000 donation today.

Nurse Lori is in need of new underwear in sizes small, medium, large. We are also in need of new or used pants in size 8 for both boys and girls.

CV Events invites you to the Dino and Dragon Stroll, an interactive walk-thru dinosaur and dragon experience! The Dino and Dragon Stroll features life-like and life-size dinosaurs and dragons, with some standing over 28 feet tall and spanning over 60 feet long. This event will be held at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville on March 19 and 20. CV Events is offering FREE TICKETS to our Athens City Schools students! CV Events partners with community food banks to STOMP OUT HUNGER, with a goal of feeding over one million families a year. In an effort to give back to the community, donation bins will be available at the entrance of the Dino & Dragon Stroll. CV Events asks all attendees who are able to bring a non-perishable, canned food item to donate toward STOMP OUT HUNGER.

Preparing children for success begins early. Athens City Schools is proud to offer two Pre-K programs: Alabama First Class and Eagles Nest.

The Alabama First Class Pre-K is a program providing effective, high-quality, early childhood experiences that prepare children for school success and lifelong learning. ACS currently offers six First Class Pre-K classes: iAcademy at Athens Elementary (2), HEART Academy at Julian Newman (2), FAME Academy at Brookhill (1), and SPARK Academy at Cowart (1).

The Eagles Nest is an inclusive program that incorporates a mixture of exceptional needs students in a classroom with their traditional peers. The Eagles Nest is located at iAcademy at Athens Elementary.
