• Soon there will be an announcement for next year's show theme! Be on the lookout and more updates will begin after the new year.

• We had 6 students selected to participate in the Augustana Band Festival on November 10th and 11th. Congratulations to Taylor Wegehaupt, Makenzi Petersen, Alivia Hovdestad, Elijah Sperle, Zach Pulling and Andrew Sanchez. The concert will be on Nov. 11th at the Washington Pavillion at 7:30 pm. Tickets are available at the pavillion website.

• The next BPA meeting will be November 13th @ 6:00 pm in the Band Room. Please check your email for any updates regarding this meeting.

Pep band will begin soon and students are encouraged to begin their sign up. This counts as a part of their grade (similar to concert participation). Everyone must sign up for at least 5 basketball games, double headers will count as two games. Students are encourged to attend as many as possible, but the final two games of the season (both senior nights) will be MANDATORY. This is new this year, but we want to show our support for the teams we play for. Those dates are: Feb. 20th @ 7 pm and Feb. 23rd at 7 pm.

Woodwind choir will begin on Nov. 8th at 7:30 am. If your student is interested, they can speak to Mrs. Decker or visit their classes Canvas page for an announcement about it.

Percussion Ensemble will begin on Nov. 9th at 6:00 pm. If your student is interested, they can speak to Mr. Mahowald or visit their classes Canvas page for an announcement about it.

Brass choir will begin on Nov. 15th at 7:30 am. If your student is interested, they can speak to Mrs. Decker or visit their classes Canvas page for an announcement about it.

As we get closer to our concert, please make sure your student has the correct attire! Here at RHS we use the concert black attire model.

This is a special time in your student's life, so we ask that all students please wear their best attire. The requirements for the attire are as follows:

• Traditional tux: white button up shirt, black bow tie, black dress pants, black dress shoes and socks, black tux coat
• All black dress (knee length or longer), dress shirt with slacks, polos and items of the like may also be advised

Thrivent Choice lets eligible Thrivent members recommend where they feel Thrivent should distribute some of its annual outreach funding by choosing from thousands of enrolled churches and nonprofit organizations nationwide, including the Sioux Falls Roosevelt High School Band Parent Association.

ALL band parents are HIGHLY encouraged to attend the monthly Band Parents Association meetings! The RHS BPA provides the fundraising dollars and volunteer support that are ESSENTIAL to helping our childresn have sucessful band experiences. BPA meetings are held monthly and are open to ALL BAND families. Show your support for your student and the entire band program at RHS! We have MANY leadership roles to fill for next year.
