Socktober
It’s SOCKTOBER!!! My name is Tommy Glinski, Jr. and I have been collecting socks for the homeless since I was in 3rd grade. So far we have donated over 5,000 pairs of socks and $2,000 dollars.
Every night there are more than 600,000 people living out on streets in the US. This year I want people to see that a small act of love, like donating socks, can make a big difference to our homeless neighbors. The Cornerstone Foundation is helping us to make this the biggest collection ever and socks will go to those in need throughout Greater Hartford.
If people can’t donate socks, they can buy a paper sock for 50 cents and that money goes to The Cornerstone to buy whatever else they need like underwear and undershirts.
Where can I drop off my donations?
Mr. Courtois’ Room - Rm 164
Mr. Forte’s Room - Rm 162
School Counseling Office
Look for additional drop boxes around the school
Collections starts on Monday, October 3, and continues for the entire month of Socktober.
