Happy Holidays!

White Settlement, Texas 76108
A Note from Chelsea and Lisa
Hello, Region 11 CTE and CCMR!
It's April, the opening day of baseball has come and gone, flowers are in full bloom, and your seniors are smelling freedom in the air. We are on the downhill slide into summer, but with oh so much yet to do!
You are finding out this month which students are qualifying for national competitions, which is exciting yet costly! Time for summer planning to ensure you can stretch budgets to cover your rock star students moving on to the national stage! We know standardized testing hits hard in April, along with final plans for graduation and summer PD. With so much on your plate, don't forget to continue to monitor six-week reports, the data for 23-24 student course requests, and the applications coming in to fill those open positions. If you have not yet completed your local needs assessment, the time is now.
We are looking forward to seeing you on April 18 at the Expert-to-Expert: Connecting Industry Practitioners and Educators event at ESC Region 11. We have a great day planned with a wealth of knowledge from industry experts who will be joining us! We are also excited to share that Matt Miller will return for a full-day teacher training on July 31 over AI — be watching for the registration to release. Seats will fill up fast!
Please take a moment to enjoy spring in all its glory this month, the trees and flowers in bloom, the explosion of green, fluffy babies romping in the fields, and the warmer temperatures. This is a great way to build yourself up for the final months of the school year!
With sincere appreciation,
Chelsea and Lisa

Helpful Information Straight from TEA!
Programs of Study being updated!
TEA Launches a listening tour
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) invites you to participate in a statewide listening tour for educators, business and industry representatives, parents, and students to gather diverse perspectives on opportunities to strengthen our statewide programs of study. Your input is essential to ensuring that the revised programs of study are aligned to high-wage, in-demand occupations across the state and designed to facilitate strong implementation.
There will be six in-person events held in Austin, Houston, Dallas, Abilene, El Paso, and Edinberg, as well as two virtual opportunities. Each event will have a session for educators in the morning, a session for business and industry representatives after lunch, and an evening session for parents and students. Participants in each session will hear from TEA CTE staff on proposed additions to programs of study and then move into smaller breakout groups to provide feedback on the proposals.
To register to attend a listening tour session, click here for dates, locations, and registration information. For questions about the listening tours, please contact the TEA CTE team at CTE@tea.texas.gov.
A–F Accountability
CCMR Tracker (TEAL)
The College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) Tracker will be released in two stages through TEA Login (TEAL) Accountability. Please note that the data in these reports are confidential.
Indicators are credited if earned within the date ranges provided below for students beginning with grade 9 enrollment. TSI assessments are the only CCMR indicator that may be earned prior to grade 9. Indicators reported upon graduation (IEP and workforce readiness graduates and special education graduates with advanced diploma plans) do not appear in the Tracker.
Reminder: Removal of 2021 Accountability Reports and Student Listings in TEAL
In order to facilitate the posting of 2023 accountability reports, all 2021 accountability reports and student listings for all campuses and districts will be removed from the TEA Login (TEAL) Accountability application on Friday, April 14, 2023. Once removed, the data contained in each report and student listing will be unavailable. Please ensure that your district downloads and maintains a copy of these reports and data for your records.
The accountability reports consist of accountability summaries, calculations, and data tables for each domain. Accountability student listings include data that was used to calculate the STAAR performance; College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR); and English Language Proficiency components for 2021 accountability.

The Non-Commissioned Security Officer Level II requires multiple steps for a student to earn the certification. The student must successfully complete the coursework, pass the certification exam, apply for the license through TOPS, and submit fingerprints to earn the certification. Students who are not currently employed by a security company are able to complete the application as an “unaffiliated” applicant.

Last Chance Rocket League HS State Qualifying Tournament
The qualifier will be held at ESC Region 11 on Saturday, April 22.
The winner will receive an automatic bid to the TexSEF State Tournament the following week, held at the Esports Arena in Arlington, Texas.
We are capping the registration to the first 16 teams that sign up. There is NO COST for this tournament, and teams will be notified as registrations are accepted. The tournament will begin at 9:00 a..m. on the 22nd and will guarantee ALL teams a minimum of four matches throughout the event. The tournament format will be four pools of four teams, each in a round-robin format. The top two teams in each pool will move on to the single-elimination Championship Bracket while the other two will move to the Consolation Bracket.
Team banners will be awarded for Consolation, 3rd Place, 2nd Place, and Champion. An automatic bid will also be given to the champion team. In the event that the champion team is already qualified, the 2nd place team will receive the automatic invitation.
More details, including Tournament Rules, Pools, Brackets, etc., will be shared with registered teams beginning this week. Once 16 teams have been confirmed, the registration link will be closed.
Schools are allowed to register more than one team. However, the priority will be to have 16 different schools participating with the additional teams as alternates in the event of open space. The plan is to have the tournament teams set by April 7 so that confirmation can be given and pools can be set.

Grant Resources
Shared by North Central Texas Economic Development District
With funding opportunities opening up this year through the Economic Development Administration (EDA), Creating Helpful Incentives to Produce Semiconductors and Science (CHIPS) Act, and funding for broadband infrastructure, the North Central Texas Economic Development District (NCTEDD) wants to make you aware of two new tools that the EDA has created to help with data information and analytics. Data is essential to grant applications, and we hope these new tools will assist you with grant applications, as well as any reporting or other data needs you might have.
- Economic Development Capacity Index (EDCI) data on county-level economic development capacity related to financial, human capital, industry composition, infrastructure, institutions, and partnerships
- National Economic Resilience Data Explorer (NERDE) information and data on economic distress, including local economic recovery and resilience analysis
A recording of how to use both data tools can be found at this link. We have added both data resources to the NCTEDD Resource webpage - link. As noted in past Distro emails, please feel free to add a link to the NCTEDD Resource webpage to your own websites if that might benefit those you serve.

Participants will tour a full-service hotel property as part of the camp agenda. During these tours, the participants will hear inspiring presentations by department managers at these hotels highlighting their career progression and current leadership positions. In addition to learning about the hotel industry, students will attend sessions on SMART Goalsetting, How to Present Yourself in a Digital World, Customer Service, and Job Search Strategies. The sessions are presented by college professors and community business leaders.
Each of the camps culminates with a College and Career Fair, which provides students the opportunity to practice the skills gained during the camp to interact with hotel college and hotel employer representatives to consider future education and career opportunities as well as potential summer employment.
