The beginning of 2024 has been very busy at Vine Street School! Students have been working hard making sure they are Respectful, Responsible and Safe in the hallways, classrooms, gym, cafeteria, and outside! Students have been working on filling our classroom behavior jars so they can "purchase" a part to help build Steve the Snowman. As you know, Steve is now complete and we had our school-wide celebration with guest readers from the school department and community, a special snack, pajama day, and other classroom fun! Please make sure your child attends school every day. A sniffle or cough is fine, please keep them home if they have a fever or cannot keep food/water down. Here is our January attendance by class as of today. Let's see if we can beat it in February!!

Our 3rd Grade Winter Concert will be Tuesday, February 13th at 5:30 pm. 3rd grade students will be showing off the musical skills they have been learning with Mr. Johnson. Come join us for a wonderful, musical evening!

If you have a child ready for PreK or Kindergarten next year, please come on Tuesday, February 6th anytime between 4:00 and 6:00 pm to register your child for next year. You will need to bring your child's birth certificate, immunization records, and 2 proofs of residency. If you know anyone with a PreK or Kindergarten child (neighbor, family, etc.), please pass this information along to them!

Yesterday, the Bangor School Department used our new Emergency Alert Calling system for the first time to announce our weather delay. Many families reached out to us about the phone number that this call came from, listed in Little Rock, Arkansas. The phone number is associated with our alert provider, Apptegy.

Working with our partner, we have updated our Emergency Alert number to be 207-262-9125. Please save this number in your phone as “BSD Emergency Alert.” This number will connect callers to the Superintendent’s Office should they have any questions. We apologize for any confusion that this may have caused.

If your family did not receive a phone call, text message, or email message this morning from the Superintendent, please contact your school to update your emergency contact information.
