Finding Freedom: The Journey of Robert Smalls for 8th grade Social Studies
Event Timing: Thursday, October 5th (play begins at 11:00- we will meet at the front of the Gaillard at 10:30)
Event Address: Downtown Charleston (parent/guardian provides transportation) at the Charleston Gaillard Center, 95 Calhoun Street, Charleston, 29401

We are excited about the opportunity to see a new play performed at this beautiful venue! This field trip is intended for 8th grade students in South Carolina History. We will be learning about Robert Smalls in our curriculum this year, so the purpose of this event is to extend student learning on this historical figure.
*Please note that this event has a limited number of tickets, so sign up now if you would like to attend! The deadline for sign up is Friday, September 29.

Counseling Corner
Please complete your Pretest on Stress Managment in Schoology. The Pretest will close on September 10, 2023, at 11:45 pm. Please make sure to complete your Pretest and answer all questions. We will be available if you need assistance. You can find the link in your Advisory Schoology Class.
Drum Roll Please.......Show and Tell is here! This will be our first Show and Tell this school year. We love Show and Tell and are excited to have you all participate during Advisory this week. There are a few rules you need to adhere to. We always abide by all school rules here at SCVCS. Make sure that whatever you share is classroom appropriate. If you have any questions about your Show and Tell item, please reach out to your School Counselor. They will be able to answer any questions you have. We look forward to you all participating. Let's be kind, courteous, and have some fun during Advisory this week.
Learning Coach Corner
Attention Parents of 6th Graders: If your student is taking PE for Semester 1 (currently in PE), please see the email that was sent to your personal email account regarding the Week 5 PE Lessons. You must email with your option by Friday, September 8th.
Please remember that we cannot share personal information about your child through anything other than the school issued learning coach gmail account or Pulse. If you are not accessing these accounts, you are not receiving important information from us. Please call our Tech Support team at 803-253-6222 and choose Option 5 for help with email. Instructions for how to access Pulse will be sent early next week.
Click HERE for instructions on how to create your Parent Account in Schoology. NOTE that this is for new families only. Returning families will use the same credentials as last year. If you need help logging in to Schoology, contact our Enrollment Team at enrollment@scvcs.org.
Once you have joined Schoology as a Parent, you may join our Middle School Parent Group. To do that, click on Groups at the top of Schoology. Then click My Groups, then Join a Group. Enter the access code: DS2J-WXDZ-D7R2S
