National Night Out October 2, 2018
On October 2nd, 2018 the City of Seagoville along with several neighborhood crime watch groups will take part in the 35th Annual National Night Out. Neighborhoods throughout the city are invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for National Night Out. National Night Out is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) and your Seagoville Police Department.
National Night Out is designed to heighten crime awareness, generate support for anti-crime efforts, strengthen neighborhood spirit, along with police and community partnerships. It also sends a message to the criminal element letting them know our neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
From 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM neighborhoods throughout the City and across the Nation, are asked to turn on the outside lights, step outside, and spend the evening with neighbors, City leaders, local police officers and fireman in the fight against crime. Seagofest 2018 - October 4th through 7th
Fall 2018 Citizens Police Academy
October 9, 2018 starts the fall session of the Seagoville Police Department’s Citizens Police Academy. Sign up now for a great opportunity to learn about your Seagoville Police Department and the officers who work for our City. This twelve (12) week course will give each participant insight on how your Seagoville Police Department operates, and knowledge into how a vast portion of police work is done and why.
These classes have helped build great relationships and a strong volunteer program known as the Citizens on Patrol (C.O.P.), which you will learn about and have the opportunity to become a part of. The Citizens Police Academy Alumni also help with a several special events such as Seagofest, Mayfest, Mesquite Rotary Club bike ride, 4th of July celebration and many other events.
Classes are held every Tuesday evening from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Seagoville Police Department in the training room. Leadership Seagoville: A Citizens Opportunity to Learn About Municipal Government
The City of Seagoville is now accepting applications for reservations in the FALL 2018 Session of the Leadership Seagoville Program. There are still a few seats remaining for the Fall session. Applications will be accepted through October 8, 2018.
Leadership Seagoville is a series of 6 educational sessions designed to familiarize and educate Seagoville residents about the structure, function and activities of City government.
Sessions will be held on Thursday evenings from 6:00 pm to approximately 8:30 pm, beginning October 11, 2018 through November 15, 2018. Participants are required to attend a minimum of 5 sessions to be eligible to graduate. Seats are limited to the first 20 citizens (18 yrs. or older) who return a completed application.
Additional information may be obtained at the City Hall or by contacting Cindy Brown at 972-287-5380. Applications are available for pick up at the City Hall, 702 N. Highway 175, between 8:00 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday. Do not wait! Reserve your seat today!
Fall 2018 National Drug Take Back Program October 27, 2018
This one day event, which is held twice a year helps bring national focus to the issue of prescription medication and controlled substance abuse. The program provides an opportunity for Law Enforcement to collaborate with DEA and establish a safe collection site.

Join Keep Seagoville Beautiful to learn about the care and keeping of trees and take advantage of the opportunity to purchase three gallon container trees for $1.00 each.

Fire Department News
The Seagoville Fire Department recently underwent an annual physical agility exam as required to prove that Seagoville firefighters are fit for duty. All full and part time staff successfully passed their test.
Daylight Savings Time will begin Sunday, November 4th. That means it is time to change the batteries in your smoke detectors. Please do not forget. Those noisy devices save lives every day.
