Plympton Family Update
February 16, 2024
From the Plympton Admin Team
Hello, Families!
This week we celebrated Kindness Week at Plympton. Wednesday was "Sprinkle Kindness" Day and students left positive notes for friends, classmates, and staff. On Thursday we all practiced being kind to ourselves by using positive self-talk.
In our student led morning announcements we are talking about Habit 3: Put First Things First. This week we've been thinking and talking about being organized. Students are reflecting on what it means to be organized, taking a few minutes each day to identify priorities, and sharing organizational tips with each other.
Thank you to everyone who was able to join us at the fundraiser at Tessie's Thursday night. And a huge thank you to the PTO for hosting such a fun event.
From the Director of Nursing:
Charles River Community Health (CRCH) is conducting a community health needs assessment and would like your feedback. You do not need to be a patient to take the survey. Responses are confidential and anonymous. At the end of the survey you can be entered into a drawing for one of four $50 gift cards. Survey's need to be completed by February 23rd.

Waltham Boys & Girls Club 5th Annual Science Fair
The Education Department of the Waltham Boys & Girls Club has put on a science fair annually since the Spring of 2018. For the safety of our community, there was no event in 2020 and 2021 due to the spreading of the coronavirus. Our science fair aims to open the youth in our community to opportunities to win awards, gain a deep understanding of an area of science that interests them, and challenge themselves. Science fairs help develop various skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, time management, and communication by applying the principles of the scientific method. A science fair is a great opportunity for youth to build their confidence in their presentation skills. It is also a way for them to share their knowledge and expertise with the community. We at the Waltham Boys & Girls Club acknowledge how profound and impactful science fairs are to our community and are excited to announce this year’s date: Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 4 - 6 pm

When your student's after school dismissal arrangements change, please send a note to your child's homeroom teacher. If you prefer to email, please also include our fabulous secretary, Mrs. Conneely, at meghanconneely@walthampublicschools.org. Mrs. Conneely and Officer Dani double check every bus list every day and cross check with the attendance for the Champion after school program to be certain kids are getting to correct location after school. Please make every effort to communicate any changes as early as possible. Calls after 2:30 slow down our dismissal process.
All student must ride the bus they are assigned. Students may not switch buses.
