Hey Wildcats!

The last week of September is here; this month went by quickly!

This past week, we saw an increase in behavior, which we expected. Teachers often refer to the period when all is calm as the "honeymoon," which typically lasts about two to four weeks into the school year. We continue to practice expectations and give lots of reminders and support, and you might see an increase in teachers reaching out if it's been a tough day. It's best to communicate early to wrap a student up in support.

This week, we have our open house on Thursday! Please join us for our Title One presentation from 5:00-5:30 PM and explore the school from 5:30-6:30 PM. Thursday is also our early release day. The buses will run normally, except they leave at 11:30 instead of 3. All students are going home with bagged lunches.

Information regarding our GIS Ski and Ride Program will be available to families in the next month or so. In the past, all students K-6 were welcome to participate. Kindergarten students require parent chaperones. More information to come!

Grand Isle School is a Title 1 school, which means we have Federal Funds given to our school to support all children meeting challenging state academic standards.

To be eligible for Title 1 and continue receiving funding, we must hold a family Title 1 night. Covid made this challenging in years past, but we're bringing it back!

Please join us from 5-5:30 for a small presentation, some door prizes, and an opportunity to ask questions. Open House will start promptly at 5:30 and end at 6:30.

All meals are free to ALL students.
