Spelling Bee

The top 10 finalists will be named to our spelling bee team! The team will be announced before winter break & the MSE Spelling Bee will be held after school in mid-January.
Technology Use
The district has seen a large increase in the number of students attempting to disable and/or get around our filters, security settings, and monitoring on school chromebooks. Sometimes, they are successful. The methods for doing this are called exploits and are often shared online for others to follow. Gahanna students are not permitted to attempt to bypass the filter or security settings and doing so may result in consequences.
What can parents do? Use the Securly parent app to monitor use and adjust home filtering rules. If you notice any issues that you need support with, please reach out to the school. We can help or refer your questions to our district tech department.

All 7th graders are now in an argument writing unit! Ask them about what they are learning! You should also see your student dedicating time to reading at home--they did an amazing job during book clubs and should practicing keeping up that volume now that we are in a writing unit.

We are happy to offer Here Comes the Bus as an aide for parents tracking their student's bus, but there may be some times when the app is not exact. We certainly do not want students to miss the bus, so please be sure your student is at their stop at the scheduled time. To remind yourself of your pickup time, visit our Transfinder page.
