Onsite COVID-19 Testing Update
March 18, 2022
Dear Union School District Families,
Late yesterday afternoon, we received notification that Grapefruit Health will discontinue COVID-19 testing operations in Union School District and other districts nationwide immediately due to changes in federal funding. We received less than 24 hour notice of the termination of service, hence we quickly adapted to work directly with Predicine Labs who has provided the sample collection and test processing services on USD campuses for Grapefruit throughout this school year.
Predicine will be assuming Grapefruit’s role as the direct contractor with the school district. This transition will be seamless, meaning there will be no interruption or change in testing personnel or procedures on campus.
By continuing to provide your student’s COVID-19 test samples on campus through the optional weekly COVID-19 test, you agree to Predicine providing your student’s sample collection, testing, results reporting and third-party billing services as a school district contractor. Your student will continue to be tested with no out of pocket cost.
COVID Testing at Schools Starting Monday, March 21, 2022
If your child currently tests weekly at their school site, no action is needed on your part.
If you would like to sign up your child for weekly COVID-19 testing for the first time, sign up information will become available and shared with families in the coming weeks.
As always, if you would like to opt out of on-campus testing, please notify your school office.
We are committed to continuing to offer on-campus COVID-19 testing through an outside testing agency as an option for students and staff, and we are appreciative to have Predicine continue to support USD.
Thank you again for your partnership and understanding as we continue to support our students and staff in schools.
