Message from the Librarian!
Last week I sent out a Google Slides presentation in an effort to open the lines of communication and be of better service to you. Upon receiving some feedback and collaborating with a LMS colleague, I have decided to change the format to a newsletter which I will send out periodically in order to share library news and information as well as teaching tools and resources. I hope you find this useful and I welcome any feedback on what I can do to better serve you.
Thanks so much!
Ms. Jennifer
RIF 2020!
Big thanks to Associate Principals Denille Johnson, Justin Meek, and Miranda Waddell!
Denille Johnson scheduled and organized RIF at KMI on Wednesday, September 9th. With the help of her and the amazing teachers and hospital staff at The Brook KMI, students were able to come and choose 2 brand new books and bookmarks to keep!
RIF books were delivered to Associate Principal Justin Meek at Brooklawn on Wednesday, September 23rd for distribution to students the following week. Thank you so much Mr. Meek for setting that up and allowing students to participate!
Miranda Waddell scheduled RIF at Home of the Innocent and with the help of Ms. Renee Miesler and the fantastic staff at HOTI, RIF successfully took place on Thursday, October 1st.
After all, reading is fundamental, and it is always great to see how excited and appreciative the kids are when they get to choose books they are interested in to keep!
Contact me to schedule RIF at your location!
Working Together!
Huge thanks to Michelle Washington, ELA teacher at Home of the Innocent, for allowing me to visit her virtual classes on Thursday, September 24th, and teach her students how to navigate some of the resources available on LibGuide!
Contact me to join your classes and teach kids how to access our library's digital resources!
