As we began this Lenten season, our school community gathered virtually to watch our Lenten Assembly about making a change because we are Called to More. This week Father Kris's message for us is also about making the change. We encourage you to watch the videos and continue the discussion at home with your families.

After over 2 years at the helm our chairperson, Tyler Callicott is stepping down. Thank you for your hard work, professionalism and commitment Tyler. The blanket exercise is an interactive educational program that teaches the history of Indigenous peoples in Canada. The program was created in response to the 1996 report of the to the 1996 report of the Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples, and is used as a teaching tool across Canada.

Our Grade 5's and our Grade 10's had the opportunity to participate in this valuable exercise. A special thank you to EICS consultant Crystal Cholin for facilitating this exercise for both groups.

Interview bookings will open up on Wednesday, March 9th.

Instructions for Parents:

Thank you once again for completing the EICS Assurance survey. All surveys have now been completed.

If you have a child in grade 4, 7, or 10, you may have received a survey from Alberta Education to complete as a parent. This survey closes March 25th. Students in Grades 7 and 10 will also complete these surveys as well.

Students in grade 11 (with an average of 75%) can earn $300-$500 when they apply for

U of L’s “Merit” scholarship. Students will be notified in October and the money can be applied to their tuition at the U of L. Why not apply?

Get Involved: Minister’s Youth Council Recruitment

The education ministry is looking to attract approximately 40 junior and senior high school students between the ages of 14 and 19 with diverse interests, identities, backgrounds, and perspectives.

Participation in the council will give students the opportunity to have a voice in Alberta’s education system, build leadership skills, and leave a legacy for future students. It also looks great on scholarship applications! The deadline for students to apply is March 25, 2022
