Anoka-Hennepin Community Education offers a variety of enrichment classes and recreational activities for students in grades K-8 to explore what they are most interested in. Classes are offered after-school, in the evening and over the weekend — enhancing academic and social opportunities outside of the traditional school day. Browse all classes online.

Thanksgiving Friendship Bracelets - After school
This is going to be fun! We're using both colored and letter beads to 'spell out' our gratitude with these Thanksgiving bracelets. We will be making 2 to 3 bracelets for you to either keep or trade during your Thanksgiving holiday.
Charity Hat Machine Sewing - Weekend
Do you know how to machine sew and want to give back? Then this is the class for you! We will spend the morning sewing hats to give to a school for students who need them. We ask that you bring one yard of fleece fabric . Please also bring thread (light brown, white, or gray - pick one color) sewing or fabric scissors, seam ripper, and pins or wonder clips.
Young Engineers ROBOTICS & STEM Program: Flying Machines - Evening
In the November session, your child will learn about transmissions, power and speed gears and elastic energy. During the class, they will build, independently or in pairs, working robotic models of a Rescue Helicopter, Airplane, Forklift, Unloading Truck and others. e2 Young Engineers offers an internationally acclaimed Robotics and STEAM education program taught in 50+ countries. This program is recognized by Harvard School of Education, New York School of Education, European Union and others as leaders in robotics and science education in the world. This is a problem and project-based learning program where students learn about new Robotics and STEAM concepts in every class and apply those concepts by building unique and different operational robots and machines in every class.
Hurricane Club - Morning
Want to make new friends? Join us for 4 weeks of fun! We will do a service project, scavenger hunt, arts and craft, games and healthy snacks. You will have to register to find out which fun activity we are doing each week.
Multi-Sports Sampler - After school
Are your kids getting their 60 minutes of active play a day? Can't decide which sport you like best? Get introduced to a variety of new sports and games with AKASPORT. In this after school program, kids get to learn skills and play sports such as lacrosse, floor hockey, basketball, tennis and so much more in this multi-sport camp that focuses on the importance of sportsmanship, cooperation and team play. Don't miss this enriching camp that includes instruction, games and a whole lot of fun. Presented by Active Kids Association of Sport, also known as, AKASPORT.
Super Sports Club - Pickleball @ Hoover - Evening
The Super Sports Club Pickleball program was created to provide boys and girls in grades K-5 the opportunity to improve their overall fitness in a fun, safe, and playful atmosphere. The 4-week program is structured in one-hour instructional sessions that combine fundamental skills instruction along with organized competition. We teach the basic fundamental skills of Pickleball, hitting, serving, returning, and fundamental footwork to provide youth with an enjoyable and educational Pickleball experience. Allowing them to take part in the fastest growing game in the country! Class will be under the direction of former Harlem Globetrotter Tim Williams.
F.A.S.T. Kids - Non-school day
First Aid and Safety Trained Kids is a 4-hour course for 7 – 10 year olds. This course helps prepare children for staying safe at and away from home. Lessons cover basic first aid, water safety, vehicle safety, home emergencies, injury prevention, stranger and internet safety. Students will receive a book, handouts and a home first aid kit as part of the class. Presented by Emergency Outfitters.
Young Scientists Roundtable: The Dance Language of Honeybees
Students and families are invited to attend the next 'Young Scientist Roundtable' event Wednesday, November 8 in Anoka. This FREE evening event will focus on ‘The Dance Language of Honeybees.”
Dr. Marla Spivak from the University of Minnesota will share all the buzz about the fascinating ways honeybees communicate with each other.
Anoka Children’s Theatre: Finding Nemo Jr.
We’re very excited to announce Anoka Children's Theatre 2024 production of Finding Nemo Jr! ACT provides Anoka-Hennepin students in grades four through eight an opportunity to be part of a live theatrical experience. Performances will be in February. Cast registration is now open.
