2/3 Digital Learning Day

This is a gentle reminder-Car rider supervision begins at 7:45am and ends at 8:15am. Our car rider teachers will need to stop the line at that time. Cars that are not in the parking lot at 8:15am will be asked to take students to the front and check them in. Our teachers will need to prepare for the day.

BPI Photography will be at WMES on Thursday, January 19, 2023, from 7:30am-11:00am to take club pictures and new student pictures for the yearbook. Any students that enrolled between November 3, 2023 and January 18, 2023 will have their picture taken.

Between January 11, 2023 and February 28, 2023, all English learners in K-12th grade in Georgia will take part in the ACCESS test at school. Please review the information linked below regarding this assessment of English learning.

All 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will be taking the Georgia Milestones Assessment after Spring Break. Gwinnett County has approved the dates shown below for administration. Please contact Mrs. McClelland (melissa.mcclelland@gcpsk12.org) if you have any questions. More information will be provided as we approach testing.

Monday: MLK Day, No School

Tuesday: Burrito bowl or chicken quesadilla

Wednesday: Chicken wings, breakfast for lunch, or yogurt basket

Each month, we focus on a different character trait. The character trait for the month of January is Citizenship. Citizenship means trying to make the school and community a better place. Citizenship is an important character trait for our students to exhibit, as we are all a part of a community. Teachers will be looking for students that exhibit this trait during January to be recognized as the “Cub of the Month” with a certificate and free ice cream!

Ever wondered what to do when your child is melting down and having a hard time regulating their feelings? Then this presentation is for you! We are hosting our second SEL Parent Night on January 17th at 5:30pm via zoom. Parents will learn WHY their child is melting down, and HOW they can help them in the moment and in the future to build self-management skills.

It’s time to cozy up with a good book! Be sure to read and log at least 300 minutes during the month of January!

Students will login to Beanstack using their GCPS student number and their birthday month and date (MMDD) as their password. Students are able to log reading minutes either on their laptop or on a mobile device.
