It is hard to believe it is already October. It has been an incredible start to the school year and we have been busy making memories! We've had Donuts with Dear Ones, field day, donation drive, Running to the Max, the Grandview Homecoming Parade, and our practice lockdown drill. We are heading into the Fall season eager for more learning and additional fun. Working at Fox Hollow is one of my greatest blessings and our staff and students are simply the best.

Limited to 3rd, 4th and 5th grade.

We will be meeting Thursdays from 2:50-3:40.

The dates are as follows:

October 26th, November 2nd, 9th, 10th and 30th

and December 7th. Sign-up information will be sent out next week!

All K-5 elementary schools release one hour earlier (1:45PM) every Wednesday. This time is set aside to provide our elementary teachers with professional development and training opportunities. For families who participate in after-school childcare, the after-school program will be extended every Wednesday at no additional cost. For families who need care, you can register with our school's program. See Section "Before and After School Care" for additional information. For Preschool students only, pick-up time is normal on Wednesdays.

We provide breakfast in the cafeteria for students starting at 7:40 a.m. daily.

The Titan Family Portal is a secure, online system that allows parents to:

• Make an online payment to their children's cafeteria meal accounts
• Remotely monitor their children's accounts
• Set up automatic recurring payments
• Submit an online application for free and/or reduced meals

Our Before and After School Care program ("Discovery Club") runs before school between 6:30-8:00AM and after school between 2:45–6:00PM (1:45–6:00PM on Wednesdays). ART TO REMEMBER:

The fundraiser isn’t open currently but COMING SOON!

Our school is participating in a creative fundraiser with Art to Remember, allowing you to purchase keepsake products customized to your child's art.

There will be one work of art uploaded with your student’s name. However, you are more than welcome to upload a picture or scanned image of any work!

There are over 60 products and many are less than $15. These make great gifts and a percentage of every purchase goes right back to our school. Each student has one uploaded work of art, however, you can select any artwork from home as well! You can use art from a club, choose a piece from earlier in the year, or create something new to submit.

If your child is in 4th or 5th grade and is interested in joining the Robotics Club, look for information to come home the week of 10/30 about how to sign up. Field Day!

Thank you! Thank You! THANK YOU!!!!! Field Day (when it happened) was a huge success! It was so great to see the kids working together, building their classroom community, and having fun! We really appreciate everyone who volunteered and we know the event would not have been possible without you! Thank you!

P.E.

We are off to a moving and grooving start this year!

Our Kindergartners are working on body awareness, spatial awareness, and gross motor skills. They are learning how to move safely in a space with several other people! Our next rotation will include them playing various tag games to see how well we did with our awareness skills.

Our 1st – 5th Graders started the year with different games/stations/activities each day. They had a blast with 9 Square, Spike Ball, and believe it or not, some have even asked for a repeat of Work Out Wednesday! 😊

We are now on to football skills. We are specifically focusing on passing and catching. Students get to play a variety of games that emphasize these skills. These students might even be able to improve the Broncos record if they get the call! 😊

VISION AND HEARING SCREENINGS

We will be having vision and hearing screenings on the following dates:

9/20/2023: hearing screenings for preschool, kindergarten and 1st grade

11/16/2023: hearing screenings for 2nd, 3rd, 4th (if new to the district or have an IEP) and 5th

11/29/2023: vision screenings for kindergarten, 1st- 3rd grades, 4th (if new to the district or have an IEP) and 5th

You will be notified if there are any concerns with your child’s hearing or vision. Otherwise assume “no news is good news.” If you do not want your child to participate, please email Nurse Angie at aschiermeyer@cherrycreekschools.org.

KINDERGARTEN and 1st GRADE PARENTS

Please send in a change of clothes in your child’s backpack. This is so nice for “just in case” they have an accident at school.

**If your child has had an accident at school and is given clinic clothing, please wash them (shirts, shorts, pants) and return them as soon as possible.
