An Update from RMS Panther PRIDE
Teaching and reinforcing expectations is an essential part of making RMS a Happy, Healthy, and Hardy environment for all adults and students. The PBIS team analyzes behavior data and teacher feedback each month to determine the needs of our students. The data collected shows that students need guidance in defining and understanding disrespectful behavior.
When students demonstrate Panther PRIDE they exhibit respectful interactions with students, staff, and adult visitors at RMS. The PBIS team created a lesson this month where teachers and students reviewed how to be respectful with words, gestures, attitude, body language, and even personal space as defined in the FCS Code of Conduct.
Thank you for discussing the importance and impact of respectful behavior with your child.
Community Judges Needed for Region Deca Competition
Tuesday, December 5, 2023 (8:30 AM - 4:30 PM)
Forsyth Conference Center at Lanier Technical College
3410 Ronald Reagan Blvd (Cumming)
To provide a realistic competitive experience, we ask local businessmen and women to judge the student events. As a judge, you will be evaluating 8-10 of the region’s top marketing students in different occupational events (i.e. finance, hospitality, entrepreneurship, retail, sales and service). Event types range from role-play situations to prepared speeches to management decision-making events. Judges are fully trained on the day of competition and are fully prepared to evaluate the students before competition begins. No prior experience is required!
Counselor Connection
Hello Panther Parents!
Did you know Riverwatch Middle School has three experienced counselors to help consult with you and give you resources? We are here for the students and you.
This week we would like to share some resources concerning technology and how to stay safe. While technology and the internet are great tools for learning and fun, they can also be a source of bad habits (too much technology/technology addiction) and compromised safety. If you want more information on how to keep your adolescent safe and technology balanced, reach out to us.
Internet Safety:
- Internet Matters
- NetSmartz
- Family Online Safety Institute (older adolescents, 13 and under)
Parental Controls for social media and video games:
Let us know how we can help you.
