On November 12th, 2018 - Buckingham Elementary hosted our annual Veteran's Day Celebration. Students and staff invited family members and loved-ones from the various branches of the United States Armed Forces to join our school assembly program. We honored the sacrifice and commitment of these brave men and women as they fought and defended our country. Our community's Veterans shared stories and were interviewed by our 5th and 6th graders - where the children learned about United States history and life as a soldier. It was a wonderful opportunity to say "Thanks" to our heroes.

As a bonus, the History Channel came to film students talking with WWII D-Day survivor, Chet Furtek! It is part of a D-Day documentary commemorating the 75th anniversary (June 6, 2019) of that momentous day. Stay tuned...

Students in Mrs. Fillette’s first grade class are enjoying learning how to post their thinking on SeeSaw for their teacher and parents to see and respond to.
