Lutherville Lab Report
What's gone down & what's coming up at the leopards' lair.
February 16, 2024
The BCPS Climate Survey is open and available for community input. This year's survey is more condensed and will take only a few minutes to complete. The input of our families is vital to us, so we greatly appreciate you taking a few minutes to complete the survey.
We had a great week at the Lab, despite the unexpected day off on Tuesday. Please note that BCPS has now had 3 full closures, and if we close for inclement weather again, that day will be a day of virtual instruction. If forecasts call for inclement weather (on a school day) we will send devices home with students as well as a reference for navigating Google Meets. The school day will begin at 11:05am (allowing teachers two hours in the morning to adapt materials to the virtual environment). Attached to this newsletter is a broad schedule and Google Meets codes for your child's homeroom and Special Areas. Teacher will provide greater detail on schedule and instruction directly to families should we need to further prepare for this possibility.
I want to offer that virtual instruction is imperfect and for many of us may bring about feelings due to the school closures of the 20-21 and 21-22 school years. Please know that as in all things school-related, our team is committed to walking with families through virtual instruction days and making the best of the situation in executing BCPS's plan.
Among the information shared below are opportunities for BCPS Enrichment Camps. I want to share a personal endorsement for the visual arts camp. My son has attended the camp the past two summers, loved the experience, and created some very cool projects. If one of the camps is a good fit for your child, I recommend giving it a try!
In partnership,
-Mr. McComb
