Thanksgiving Break is here! Mark your calendars for no school Nov. 22-26th. Have a safe and relaxing holiday break! We will see you back at school on Monday, November 29th.

Be on the lookout for Mrs. Goldsworthy’s latest edition of her newsletter - coming to your inbox later this week. Find out what’s coming as we wind down one semester and prepare to head into another year.

This Advent season, our school will be sponsoring the Christmas Connection, a Sharing Tree Program. This is an opportunity for the students to get involved in the act of giving. Our generosity will help ensure more than 770 families will be able to place gifts under their Christmas trees.

The Third Grade SALT program will be organizing the collection of gifts CSSE donates. While you are doing your own Christmas shopping, please consider getting extra gifts to help those who are less fortunate. Bring new, unwrapped toys to the school library Monday, Nov. 29th through Friday, December 3rd.

Check out these wish lists on Amazon, Walmart, and Target, but feel free to bring whatever you like from anywhere you choose to purchase it. Most needed items include Children's Clothes (ages 3 and up) and Girl's Toys (ages 9 and up).

Please help us bring Christmas to the families who need us!

Help support our St. Eugene 8th Grade Class by purchasing CSSE spiritwear eagle hats and the ever-popular, super durable trash bags! Proceeds from this hat and trash bag sale will help the CSSE 8th Grade Class pay for their year-end trip to Camp Classen as well as the traditional class gift to the school and/or parish. Join Mrs. Goldsworthy and Fr. Vic for a reception and presentation about Oklahoma’s Tax Credit Scholarship program after 9:30am mass on Sunday, Dec. 5th in Ross Hall. The Tax Credit Scholarship is a special Oklahoma Tax incentive that gives you a tax credit while funding scholarships for our school. This year St. Eugene received more than $67,000 from the program. This money will go straight toward helping families who desire a Catholic education, but have difficulty affording tuition. Please RSVP by November 29th to rsvp@archokc.org or call 405.709.2745.

I want to thank everyone who helped with our library's book fair. It's a big undertaking, but so much fun for our community! I love seeing your children's faces light up when they get to take home a new book, and I even received some photos of children who went silent in the back of the car on the way home because they were so engrossed in new books. That's the best! Thank you to all the families who help support our school library. I am always adding new books to our collection to keep our students happily reading, and the Book Fair helps make that possible. Book Fair will return in November 2022!

Congratulations to the 7th and 8th grade academic bowl teams! They represented CSSE at district tournaments this week, and 7th grade won the tournament! Seventh grade team members are Jack Frame, Blessing Gwaabe, Elliott Hattaway, Wesley Lemons, Charlcie Lawson and Bennett McElroy coached by Ryan Lemons.

Please pray for Mrs. Taylor who has been home recovering from surgery. She is doing well, and we wish her a speedy recovery. | Please pray for Linda Skinner, a mentor and dear friend to Mrs. Goldsworthy and Mrs. Jackson. She is going through chemo. | Please pray for the healing of Sasha, cousin to Mark Roby and granddaughter to Mrs. Neal. | Please pray for the healing of Dub Wheeler, grandfather or Gehrig and Gabby. It’s time to sign up for the Best Advent Ever! Receive video reflections beginning on the first day of Advent, Sunday, November 28.

• This year’s program is about finding the inspiration you need to say no to what draws you to the darkness of worry and fear and yes to what draws you to the light of healing and hope! Matthew Kelly and the wisdom of his new book, Life Is Messy, will be your guide in that journey. Copies will be available in the narthex soon!
