SMS Career Fair Needs Volunteers!!!
Shiloh Middle School invites you to participate in our College/Career Day: Building Foundations for Success that will take place on Friday, March 29, 2024. We are working to cultivate leaders and learners who are agents of change and responsible citizens. Students strengthen their own voices as they learn to hear and respond to the voices of others. With that in mind, we feel it is important for our students to learn from the experiences of others.
As a presenter you will be asked to prepare a 15-20-minute presentation for several of our classes. Students will be given the opportunity to ask you questions and we encourage you to share handouts or samples related to your profession or organization. If you are interested in participating CLICK HERE to fill out the participation form. Light refreshments will be served throughout the day and our presenters will receive lunch. Our activities for the day will be from 9:30 – 3pm. The participation form will allow you to select the session/s you will be available to present.
Feel free to contact Nicole Carrington, nicole.carrington@gcpsk12.org if you have questions about our College/Career Day. We look forward to seeing you on March 29th.

GSMST Lottery is Open!
The GSMST lottery registration window opens on November 1, 2023, and it will remain open until January 19, 2024.
Below are the dates for the Informational Meetings that provide information to students/parents interested in attending GSMST. All meetings begin at 7:00 PM in the Cafeteria at GSMST, and the information presented will be the same at all meetings. Additional details and documents are available on our school website at www.gsmst.org/.
- Wednesday, November 15, 2023 – Archer Cluster, Brookwood Cluster, Dacula Cluster, Grayson Cluster, Mill Creek Cluster, Mountain View Cluster, Parkview Cluster, Shiloh Cluster, South Gwinnett Cluster
- Thursday, January 11, 2024 – make-up meeting date
As in previous years, students will be required to meet eligibility requirements to successfully enter the lottery. This current lottery cycle will be our ninth year with a math requirement, to ensure success within the structure and pacing of our curriculum. All eligible students must be enrolled in Enhanced Algebra: Concepts and Connections (or a higher-level math class) AND 1) score "Distinguished" on the Georgia Milestones End-of-Course math assessment for this course OR 2) score 550 of higher on the math section of the PSAT. Due to the change in math courses this year, we anticipate that the use of PSAT scores will be heavily relied on. We will communicate with families who enter the lottery if the Milestone requirement changes for this year only.

How to Care for Your Chromebook
Media Center & Technology: Info and Tips
Technology Tips
2. Students should bring their charged Chromebook and the charger to school every day.
3. Students should keep their Chromebook in their bookbags.
Medical Authorization
A parent or guardian must bring any / all medications to the school and fill out a medication administration form. Students are not allowed to carry any medications with them at school or on the bus. This includes any over the counter medication, for example; cough drops, Tylenol, etc. If you would like your child to have any OTC medication left in the clinic, you must bring to school with a completed medical authorization form.
To give us authorization to give your student their medication you will need to complete the Medication Authorization Form. You may print it, complete it, and bring it in or you can pick one up to complete in the clinic. A separate form is required for each individual medication.
If your student requires an inhaler and/or an Epi-pen you will need to complete the appropriate form.
For your student to be permitted to carry their inhaler and/or Epi-pen on their person, their physician will need to complete the section of our form advising us of their authorization. If the student will be carrying their inhaler and/or Epi-pen on their person, we ask that you also provide the clinic with a backup in case one is needed.
