Students will follow a normal schedule on Tuesday, November, 2st. The break will be Wednesday - Friday. Classes resume on Monday, November 27th.

Seniors will receive a YELLOW form on Monday to order signature gear. Orders will be taken in the Arena Concessions’ Kiosk November 1-3 and November 6-10. Orders may also be given to me. Final date to order—Monday, November 13th at 3:15. Orders should be given to Mrs. Ledden in CS 347 or Mrs. Thompson (Office in Student Services).

It is nearly time for Fall 2023 state testing at Oak Ridge High School. In order to streamline testing and preserve as much instructional time as possible, we will use modified schedules for our testing days. If a student is enrolled in the tested subject area for the day, the student will begin school and testing at 7:50 a.m. If a student is NOT enrolled in the tested subject (s) for that day, the student may arrive after testing concludes. All classes will meet on an abbreviated schedule each day following testing. Attendance to these classes is mandatory for all students. Students will test online this year using their school devices. Please remind students to charge and restart devices prior to testing. The buses will run on the normal schedule. If a student does not have a test and arrives to school before regular classes begin, the student will report to the food court and remain until testing is over. Breakfast and lunch will be served each day.

With the temperature dropping, there has been an increase in the wearing of pajama pants and blankets being brought to school. Please remember that pajama pants are not a part of the dress code and blankets should not be brought to school. Parents, please help us out!

During the course of Wellness A, students will participate in a Family Life Education programming called “The Sex Talk” which is presented by the non-profit, “Let’s Talk 101”. This programming follows the State of Tennessee Lifetime Wellness Standards and School Board Policy 4.2.13. Parents, please submit changes needed for contacts, addresses and phone numbers on Skyward to Rhonda Garrison, with appropriate documentation. Phone numbers and email changes can be sent to your student's administrator, or call Amy O'Rourke at 425-9607, in the Counseling Office.

Parents, every time a student is absent, please send a note the day they return. Failure to send a parent note/doctor's note/court note within three (3) days will result in the day being unexecused. Parents can write 7 parent notes per year. Notes can be dropped in the attendance office, or in the "mailbox" in the Visual Arts hallway.

Students have or will be issued an ID badge. This badge is a keycard to the building. Badges also provide access to the library, OR, printers, lunch accounts, etc. Students have access to the building beginning at 7:00 am. Badges are turned off at 7:50 when the tardy bell rings.

Students are not allowed in the building before 7:00 am when staff is available for supervision. Students are expected to vacate the premises by 3:20 daily if not under the direct supervision of a teacher or coach. Students will NOT be allowed to remain in the Food Court to wait on a parent or a ride home. No supervision is provided after this time.

Parents, students are NOT allowed to carry medications on their person at school. All medications must be registered with our nurse, Lori Gupton. Registration requirements are in the form below. This includes over the counter medications such as Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Benadryl or any type of allergy medications, etc. S

Students must register for transportation services via Skyward. The form is located in the Skyward FAMILY ACCESS ACCOUNT not the student access account. Families were sent instructions to email accounts on file throughout the summer. Paper forms will no longer be accepted.

Students driving to school are required to have a parking tag. There is NO cost; however, they must register their vehicle with Student Services and show their driver's license. The form is electronic and can be found at the link below.

In order for a student to take their permit test, a form is required from the school. Mrs. Thacker, our attendance secretary, prepares these forms. Requests are accepted through the link below. When school is in session, a completed form may be picked up in the Attendance Office. However, if school is NOT in session, the form will be mailed home by USPS.

Did you know your teen will have their driver's license suspended due to poor grades and/or poor attendance?

Parents should review this information with their teen drivers!!

CDC is asking everyone to continue to save your Coke product lids/case codes. Each cap earns $.05 for this classroom! Coke lids/codes can be dropped in Student Services OR families set up their own account @ https://us.coca-cola.com/give/schools, input your codes and donate them to Oak Ridge High School. All proceeds donated go to CDC to help pay for classroom supplies, materials and student needs. Thank you for your support!!!
