A Message from Mrs. Macallaster!
A note from RMS PTSO!
Thank you to all of our generous families that have already joined PTSO! If you would like to support the RMS PTSO in its mission to support teachers and students, we are still accepting donations. If you have not had a chance to join yet, we are still trying to reach our budget goal of $9,500 in membership funds.
Why join RMS PTSO? PTSO depends primarily on donations from our RMS families to finance initiatives to support teachers and students. All funds raised go directly back to RMS. Your membership fee is your donation to the PTSO, and because we are a 501c3, your donation is tax deductible and eligible for corporate matching if your employer offers that benefit.
What if I don't have time to volunteer? That's ok! We will happily accept financial donations without any obligation to volunteer.
How will you use my donations? PTSO funds a variety of initiatives to support teachers and students. Our three big commitments this year are:
1) 22 new Chromebooks and a cart for student usage;
2) Teacher grants for educational supplies, club support, and school improvements;
3) Funding to support the PBIS rewards program.
To see a more detailed breakdown of how PTSO spends funds, you can view the 23/24 budget HERE.
How can I join? If you would like to support RMS PTSO, please click HERE.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
PTSO is looking for parent volunteers to help out with the Bookfair, starting with set up on 10/26. For more details about dates and shifts, please click HERE.
Lambert Connected Parent University - Input Needed!
The Lambert Connected community of schools is excited to plan another Parent University event to provide informational sessions for the families we serve. We held two of these events last year and received positive feedback from all who attended, including the request for more.
Please help us by...
- Marking your calendars for November 28, 6:00 P.M. - when our first Parent U event of the 2023-24 school year will take place at Sharon Elementary.
- Completing THIS SURVEY to provide feedback that will help us provide the most sought-after session topics.
If you have students at multiple schools in our community, you are likely to receive this message multiple times. Please only fill out the survey one time. We will be collecting survey responses through Friday, September 22.
Sincerely,
Lambert Connected Administrators

Acknowledgments
If you attended our Curriculum Night presentations, you saw that teaching positive behavior was our first step. Now when we see it, our goal is to acknowledge it. Here are two ways that we acknowledge and reward our behavior expectations.
Each month, the top 5 students who have the most points for each PRIDE attribute – Personal Responsibility, Respect, Integrity, Determination, and Empathy – will be recognized by teachers and the leadership team during student lunch time. Students will be able to pull an item from the PRIDE Prize cart as their reward for this acknowledgement. They will also be photographed for our social media post. Before Fall Break, we will announce our top PRIDE Winners for August and September.
Each quarter, students can use their earned PRIDE points to buy items in the PBIS Rewards app store – PRIDE Marketplace. Students are encouraged to earn their PRIDE points for our positive expectations taught at the beginning of the year and reinforced each day. The purchase window for Quarter 1 will open October 2 – October 6. This is the only time that students can use their points to purchase a drink, candy, or snacks. Students will shop through the app, and the items will be bagged and delivered to them. Once the window closes, students will keep earning points towards the next purchase window for Quarter 2.
