Safety Tip
Thanks for your help in keeping students safe!
Congrats to the GHS golf team for winning the crosstown match up for the third year in a row!
Important Attendance Information
If you need to pick up your child during the school day, text them the time they need to leave class to meet you, or you can also send a note. Students should show their teacher the text or note before class starts to let them know they need to leave class early.
Parents DO NOT need to come into the school building to check out your child. Please email the attendance line, ghs.attendance@bsd7.org, to notify GHS of the time you need them to be excused.
Professional appointments (medical, dental, counseling, physical therapy, etc.):
Please ask the provider for a note showing name, date and time of appt. and have your child bring it to the attendance office when they return.
The absence will be recorded as medical which does not count towards the 10 day absence limit.
The provider is also welcome to fax the note to 406-522-4622, or email to ghs.attendance@bsd7.org
Attendance Errors:
If your student was marked absent from a class and says they were there, have them talk with the teacher. If the teacher agrees an error was made, the teacher can contact the attendance office to make the correction. This correction needs to be made within 5 days.
GHS Art students working on projects
Project Connect
Project Connect was founded in the fall of 2018 in the wake of yet another US school shooting. It began with the hope that more positive adult presence in a school could significantly impact a school’s climate for the better. Project Connect is committed to the idea of supporting the students and staff in our schools by partnering with educators and promoting a positive campus environment. It fosters a sense of community and helps students feel acknowledged.
Project Connect volunteers greet and connect with students as they enter the school campus in the morning, over the lunch hour, and as they leave campus after school. The goal remains consistent: welcome students to school with a smile in the morning, interact and connect with them during lunch, and send students home after school with encouragement and a wish for a good evening. It’s a short amount of time in everyone’s day, but ultimately makes a huge difference for the entire school community.
We are continually working to increase our volunteer pool and to engage parents, grandparents, neighbors, and other community members in the program. Strong community support promotes a healthy, flourishing school district, which in turn creates a stronger community. Please consider joining the district-wide Project Connect team. Many hands make for light work! We look forward to seeing you in our halls and on our campuses!
If you are interested in volunteering with Project Connect, please reach out to our GHS coordinator, Tricia Flohr at gallatinhighprojectconnect@gmail.com or stop by the Project Connect table at Back to School Night this Thursday.
Gear up for Fall
Student Drop off and Student Parking
We are placing an emphasis on building safety this year and that includes our parking lots. In order to alleviate congestion and make it safer for our students to park and walk to class, please only use the eastern parking lot and Annie Street for student drop off.
Juniors and Seniors who requested a parking pass will receive information this week about when and where to pick up their passes. Student parking is only allowed in the blue areas below, the southeastern and southwestern parking lots, as well as along Annie Street.
Thank you for your help in keeping our students safe!

Host a Rotary International Exchange Student!!
The Bozeman Rotary Club is seeking host families for an Incoming Gallatin High Exchange Student. This student is a junior male from Italy. Each family will host him in their home as part of their family for a three-month period during the school year. Host families can be married or single parents with or without children in the home. Host families describe hosting as a wonderful experience to get to know and establish a lifelong relationship with a young person from another country, culture and language! For more information, contact Rotarian John Patterson 406-581-9767.
