- Monday, October 9th is a 2 hour Delayed Opening!
- How are the Candy Wars going? We have announced the totals so far in the Candy Wars on our morning news show. Consider that we have 670 students and growing each day! Check out the totals. Let's see who takes the lead next week!

- 5th Grade Families- A separate email was sent to all 5th grade families about the Fall-A-Palooza Funhouse! It has been a SES tradition for 5th grade students w their families. Check it out!

EVERYONE must reapply for being a volunteer. The system was cleaned out and you must reapply. Remember, if you want to be a chaperone or work events, you must be approved. If you are an employee of CCPS, you still need to complete the volunteer process for participation in events at school.

- Arrival window for cars and bus: 9:15AM-9:25AM
- Dismissal window for Daily Car Riders- 3:50PM-4:05PM
- Dismissal window for bus: 4:10PM-4:20PM

o 10/18 – Unity Day; on Unity Day we wear and share ORANGE to show unity for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion and to send a visible message that no child should ever experience bullying. Visit the Pacer website for more information on how YOU can prevent bullying! - www.pacer.org
o 10/16 – 11/8 – End Hunger in Calvert County! We will collect non-perishable food items for End Hunger in Calvert County. The grade level with the most items donated will win a surprise!
o 10/23 – 10/28 - Red Ribbon Week; stay tuned for a flier for spirit week themes!
CCPS Student Services is hosting a Mental Health Fall Festival on October 10th (World Mental Health Awareness Day) from 4:30pm-7pm at Calvert High School. This is going to be a FREE family friendly event with 3 food trucks (LuckyDog ice, Kelly’s Kickin’ Cuisine, and Gato Tacos), petting zoo with mini cows, face painting, games, fall/Halloween photo opportunities, etc.
Calvert County Mediation Center is offering FREE Family Transitions Triple P classes. These are classes for families that are navigating with co-parenting. Each class is 2 sessions and of 3 hours each from 5:30pm-8:30pm and held at the Prince Frederick location. The dates for sessions are - Oct 11 and 12, Nov 1 and 2, & Dec 6 and 7. Please see the attached flyer for more information.

- October 9th (2 hours), November 10th (5 hours), and February 16th (3.5 hours) are for our teachers to schedule parent teacher conferences. This is a change from our past practices where the time is divided over 3 days. Please know that our teachers must prioritize their conferences based on student needs. Your child's teacher will initiate the conferences as the dates approach. All families will be offered a conference time by the February 16th date. Our goal is to always meet with every family at least once per year.

- One more week! Our FSO is holding the annual MUM sale that earns money for our school! If you need MUMS for your home or your family, please consider supporting this sale! The flier is below!
- Our SES FSO Fall Festival- Fall-A-Palooza is in the works, along with a Candy War! See the fliers below!
- Drama Club: Each year, SES offers the opportunity for students to be a part of a great performance through the Drama Club. The registration is first come, first serve. We will have students sign up, then we will send a confirmation to pay through an online link. We will close the sign up link on Friday, September 29th at 10AM. https://forms.office.com/r/VxrUmYtEry
- The Flock Tie Dye was postponed due to some of the tie materials being delayed in shipment. We will let you know when it is rescheduled. Students who have not brought in their white tee shirt are encouraged to bring it this week.
