A Note From Dr. Overstreet...
DHS Apply to College Day: Twenty-Seven (27) seniors were accepted to Middle Georgia State University during last Thursday’s Apply to College Day at DHS! It was indeed a great day for Dublin High School juniors and seniors who participated in the DHS Apply to College Day on our campus. More than twenty-five colleges and universities were on campus to share with the many students who participated. I want thank our school counselor, Ms. Jessica Lemon, the Graduation Coach, Ms. Antionekio Madison, and the Family Engagement Coordinator, Ms. Krystal Waller for coordinating this event for our students.
The Georgia Match: The Georgia Match is a state initiative created by Governor Kemp to match every Georgia high school senior with colleges, universities, and technical colleges who notified them of their eligible admission to one or more Georgia institutions. Of the 132 Dublin High School seniors, 117 received their Georgia Match Letters while the other 15 should receive their individual letter in the second batch of letters soon.
PBIS Celebration: DHS will have a full day activities to promote of PBIS - Positive Behavior Interventions and Support on Thursday, November 16th. We will begin the day with a school-wide assembly in the gym with our featured guest speaker, Mr. Keith Brown followed by a full day of interactive games, a 3 on 3 basketball tournament, game trucks, and fun activities outside. We will transform our rotunda into a movie theater with a featured movie. It will be day of fun and fellowship among students and staff. Moreover, it will be an opportunity to celebrate our students and to encourage them to be successful on the upcoming Georgia Milestone Exams.
Irish Football: Congratulations to the Fighting Irish Football Team for their 49-0 victory over Screven County last Friday night in the Shamrock Bowl for the first round of GHSA state playoffs. This Friday night, the team will travel to Quitman, GA to take on Brooks County High School in the 2nd round. Kickoff is set for 7:30 Friday night. All tickets must be purchased online through GoFan.com.
A Big Irish Shout Out to the DHS Marching Band: The Marching Irish Band: DHS Marching Band had double duty over the weekend. They performed superbly Friday night at the Shamrock Bowl, but had an early wakeup call Saturday morning as they traveled to Savannah to participate in the Savanah Veteran’s Day Parade. Thank you Mr. Rayner and to all band members, parents, and supporters for representing Dublin High School, the Dublin Way in Savannah!
21st Century After School Program: The 21st Century Afterschool Program is available to all students. The 21st Century Program is an after-school program for students who are in need of extra help or tutoring for core academic subjects they are currently enrolled in this semester. Students can also recover credits for courses they may have previously failed in order to get back on track for graduation. The afternoon program is Monday - Thursday from 2:30 until 5:30. Bus transportation along with an afterschool meal are provided. For more information, please contact Ms. Madison, the school's Graduation Coach at 478-353-8040.

DHS 2023-2024 Wrestling Season
An encouraging first outing for our Irish wrestlers today, especially our first years who showed a lot of heart in the heat of battle. The team competed valiantly in Morgan County at the John Robbins Invitational, earning 5th place as a team. Individual placers include: Quinton Lovett, 3rd place at 106 pounds Taj Carswell, 2nd place at 144 pounds Dwane Bouyer, 3rd place at 157 pounds Lucas Coley, 5th place at 175 pounds Kelvin Serrant, 4th place at 215 pounds Wes Maddox, 5th place at 215 pounds Lavondrick Scott, 4th place at 285 pounds Kahlil Young, 2nd place at 285 pounds. Dublin High School Marching Band
DHS Marching Band recieved an official invite to perform during the parade route as the parade adjunct's band (the organizer), which will close the parade out and provide a performance in front of the WTOC News 11 review stands of all the songs of the Armed Forces. Also, there were about 13 other bands from Savannah, other cities in Georgia, and a Bagpipe band from New York! The student performed and represented DHS and our veterans with Irish Pride!
