EXISTING STAFF UPDATES
"There is no such thing as an ending, just the place you leave the story."
-- from The Second Best Marigold Hotel
Three of our faculty / staff are leaving the SVDP story. We appreciate that they have shared their gifts with us and wish them success, happiness, and grace as their story continues. Join us in celebrating Leslie Carmignani, Marie Ferdon, and Anna Strain.
We are excited to welcome some of our existing staff new positions for the coming 2023-2024 school year.
NICOLE CALVELLO - 8th Grade Homeroom / 7th & 8th Grade ELA
A message from Ms. Calvello: Growing up with a father who was a high school English teacher, I spent many nights receiving mark-ups, comments, and “keep it up!”s on what I thought was my final draft of an essay. To say this led to me feeling frustrated, would be an understatement; however, it cultivated what is now a strength of mine – being a strong writer. I am so excited to share this journey with my 7th and 8th grade students next year, and I hope to instill in them an appreciation for the process – both receiving feedback and writing multiple drafts, in order to support them in making writing a strength of theirs as well!
MARIAH BERRY - Kindergarten Co-Teacher
A message from Ms. Berry: I am excited to transition to my new role at SVDP. I have always loved working with the littles, and I’m looking forward to welcoming our newest members at SVDP. This summer, I am receiving my Master in Teaching and California Teaching Credential from the University of San Francisco. In my free time, I enjoy snuggling with my kitten, Nala, and exploring live music in the city. I cannot wait for the 2023-2024 school year to begin!

All De Paul Youth Club members and their families are invited to attend our annual Awards Night & Pot Luck Dinner. Please join with us as we celebrate the fun we had on the court, pitch, and diamond.
Awards will be presented to the Most Loyal, Inspirational, & Improved boy and girl in 3rd-8th grades.
We will also honor our outgoing 8th grade athletes, present the De Paul Youth Club Spirit Award, and wish a fond farewell to those 8thgrade parents that are “graduating” from the program. The ever-popular slide show will be shown at the conclusion of the awards ceremony.
To make the Potluck a success we are asking families with a 3rd-6th grade athlete to bring a main course that will feed 10 people. Families with a 7th or 8th grade athlete are asked to bring salad and bread for 10. Please remember to clearly label all dishes and serving utensils.
The De Paul Youth Club will provide dessert and a drink bar.
We hope to see you all on the 18th as we celebrate all our athletes! All De Paul Youth Club members must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
